I just got the regular 4K UHD and the Blu-ray copy today. Shout! Factory added a neat Easter egg in with the Blu-ray release...
The discs for the 4K UHD are the same as the Steel book. The Blu-ray has the remastered Full Frame the same as the steel book and the 30th anniversary DVD which is widescreen...

The alternate slipcover may be news worthy....

looks great. FYI I did lobby for all versions to have the reversible sleeve (it was my idea and I remastered the original VHS art) but due to the box being opaque they did not see fit to do that.

In other news the UK release later this month *should* have a couple of similar Easter eggs

I bought it a total of 4 times. First on Gamecube, then PS2, then Wii, and the HD version through Steam for PC....

 

I'd like just standard HD version box set of season1 all the way to Victory.
Hasbro plus have uploaded first three seasons, those are HD but not remastered HD.

 

What Hasbro uploaded to Youtube are the Rhino versions and not the mostly corrected Shout! Factory ones. It is also in SD upscaled to HD.

 

I immediately checked the back of the cover of the UHD and only to be disappointed that it is blank. I am going to put the VHS slipcover into the the UHD for my shelf copy...
I look forward to checking out the UK Zavvi release when I receive it.

 

I've got a lot of nostalgia for that cover, and it looks great, especially love the tape removal notch on the side. It's a bummer the UHD doesn't have it. The new cover looks great as well, new cover slip case, plus retro VHS jacket would have been the perfect best of both words.

 

I agree got mine today was surprised by the retro alternate cover totally cool move. Does anyone know if the DVD is the exact same print as the previous 30th anniversary DVD? I have both and I checked them both out at the same time I couldn't notice any picture or menu differences.

Kind of bothers me that the scene at 8:43 is still blurred after camera panning stops. Was that always there??

If I had nothing better to do with my time I would love to fix some of the other mistakes in this film, but need to win the lottery first.

I'd love to see a "Special Edition" version that corrects the Rumble/Frenzy animation error, and adds new scenes, like the Red Alert storyboards, or Obsidian and Strika leading Cybertron's defense against Unicron.

 

Nice. Looking good. Hopefully it won't take long for me to receive once it's released on the 25th of October. Having seen a few comparison photos and videos, I can't wait to finally see it in glorious 4K myself.

 

I received my shipping notice from Zavvi yesterday. With a bit of luck I'll receive it before the official release date then.
