One Piece is in the 1000's and they have been saying they are ending for 4 or 5 years now. Not saying your wrong, just that some mangas go on for quite awhile. JoJo's Bizzare adventure for instance has had endings, they then just go on with new characters in a new arc. Naruto Ended, then they told tales about his kid. Though I would rather have an ending than another situation like Bezerk.
I’d prefer the characters and world continue. If Marvel and DC have shown us anything, it’s that the superhero genre has enough flexibility to sustain decades of storytelling. New villains. New allies. The occasional retcon. You COULD continue the story after the All for One and Shigaraki are defeated. And then bring em back in five or ten years because COMICS! It’s just not looking that way from stuff Horokoshi has said. That art exhibition he had at a Japanese museum, earlier in the year, had pieces focused on the ending chapters of the series. Just like the author of AoT did. Which was within 1-1.5 years years of that manga wrapping up.
Spoiler Don’t forget there’s the whole thing with the the threat of the Quirk Singularity and Hero society needing an overhaul so history doesn’t repeat itself again. It’s listed as the final ACT, that refers to multiple arcs. The current one seems like it’s just about to end. At the rate things are going, there’s likely to be at least two more. One serving as prep for the final battle. And the actual battle itself(which I expect to be as long, if not longer then the PLW). And like you I too expect things to come to a close somewhere between 400-500 chapters. Which will probably be 2023.

Season 6 has apparently started production. I’m expecting we won’t get this one till September next year at the latest.
Yup, they just officially confirmed it https://www.funimation.com/blog/2021/09/25/my-hero-academia-season-6-officially-announced/
So Ima be blunt: I think as time goes on the cracks in Bones' animation and the (lack of) effort they put into the animation is starting to get under my skin. I'm obviously not expecting their work to be on par with Kohei's own artwork, but all these little annoyances add up over time. While I'd say I enjoyed this season over all, and I think a lot of it was handled well enough I think their adaption of MVA was kind of a let down in retrospect. First, in the actual season, we had only 5 episodes. They cut out content from the manga. We lost an entire chapter with the CRC which served several purposes, the most important one being that it explained how the league was able to obtain a mansion for a base. We lost some great stuff from Re-Destro and the haunting moment where he murders a member of his staff. We lost bits of information here and there that expanded the lore. And we lost Spinner's whole character arc. Spinner, the character that suffers from discrimination due to his mutant-based quirk, was the handled the most poorly in this season. Before I make this into an essay: The anime should have reduced Joint Training and Endeavor's Agency by one episode each, giving MVA 7 episodes to work with. The arcs shouldn't have been rearranged. Season 5 was a bit disappointing to me and I hope Season 6 is better.
The fights that are gonna happen from the manga are brutal and you will see both Shigaraki and Deku do some amazing stuff. Everything changes on the status quo on both sides. Characters die on both sides. Many you won't expect. It will even affect the civilians this time.
The pacing for Seaskn 5 was definitely bad. I’d say Ep 1 Recap/ Nomu Aftermath Ep2-4 crappy joint training arc fights with less essential characters. Make these more montage-like than drawn out fight eps. Ep5 Bakugo’s match Ep 6+7 Black whip and the rest of Deku’s match. Ep 8 Xmas ep (it does tie into stuff later with Ochako) Ep 9 - Hawks warns Endeavor / Beginning of agency arc Ep10-13 Endeavor agency Ep 14 - misc mini stories showing other work studies. Have one of them involve the movie villain or plot. Eps 15 the Aizawa/Kurogiri ep Eps 16-24 NINE episodes of MVA. Make the intro to the arc two eps instead of one, so we can learn about ReDestro and spinner and see more of the initial Machia fight/training. Then do the toga ep. do the twice ep. Spend an episode on Dabi, Spinner, and Compress. Even if it’s some anime original stuff mixed in with the canon. Make the shiguraki and ReDestro stuff three eps instead of two. Don’t cut anything and add to the fighting scenes thst the manga didn’t get to elaborate. And have a wrap up ep that recaps the journey of the league of villains to the force they’ve become - with some of the stuff involving Hawks and Shiguraki’s upgrade (from ep 25) Ep25 no villain stuff. Just the training, quirk talk, and setup for the war. Show that extra couple minutes of story where Deku and 1A actually see the army of heroes ready to declare a war. It felt like that end credit scene wasn’t clear enough about what they were walking into. I’ve seen a few reaction channels completely miss that it was the beginning of a war
I really don’t think that was going to happen even if we wanted it. The JT arc was the most popular of the this seasons arcs in Japan. That definitely played a factor into why it was the most marketed.
In the pages of the manga, Spoiler the international heroes have arrived! The first two have already made their debuts in World Heroes Mission, and last one however is completely new. America’s No. 1 hero, Star and Stripe. All Might apparently mentored her. She arrives standing on the back of a stealth jet, with a whole fleet flying behind her. But things seem to be about to get worse. Cause just when Deku has finally started to rest up, All Might and his detective friend deduce that Shigaraki isn’t a month away from completion like previously believed, but rather only THREE DAYS.
I didn’t have much of a problem with the pacing for the most part. But I agree that a little more time should have been made to expand on Spinner’s backstory. Definitely one of the issues I had with this season. Hopefully next season will bring that in. I’m not sure if the villain arc should have been a separate mini series or simply expand it while reducing certain episodes. Though, I wouldn’t mind the latter if we reduced episodes from certain arcs such as the “Class A entertains everyone” arc. Not to say I hate that arc. I didn’t enjoy it as much as anything from season 5 even with the issues I had.
How they figured this out you wonder? Spoiler Remember that shockwave that Shigaraki let out at the beginning of the prison break? Well, apparently a message was hidden inside of it for AfO, and it detailed how days Tomura had left, and at that time, it was 38 days. Which as of now, is down to three.
We have now learned the quirk of Spoiler Star and Stripe. It’s called New Order. By touching something and calling it’s name, she can impose a new rule over it. She can use two at time, and the first one she uses on herself to give herself super strength. All Might is her “spiritual master” after he saved her and her sister from a robber on the Santa Monica Pier while he was in America. His distinctive hairstyle stuck with her, and she has emulated him ever since. Trying to follow his example. As for Shigaraki, it’s a full on tug of war in his head. The AFO vestige is like a parasite, slowly merging with him. Into something new…
Our theatre is getting the new movie. Last one hits first place at the american box office but this time it's a week between dune and eternals! Yikes.
Saw the movie today with my kids, we all loved it! funny that Spoiler the new uniforms were worn for 5 minutes at the beginning then back to normal we saw the dubbed version because my son is only 6. he can read but i’d rather him focus on the animation. now the long wait until the anime starts again. My daughter reads the manga so she is up to date unlike her old dad lol.
