They're taking the G1 accuracy too far.

Awesome earth-mode Mirage. That's all I gotta add to this thread. :)

I decided to go ahead and order that upgrade kit off eBay for Mirage. He was so damn close to being perfect. He just needed that shoulder port.

I'm not too miffed on having to spend about $8 for an upgrade kit, mostly because I didn't pay a dime for this set itself thanks to gift cards. But, I am just little bit miffed that I feel like I need an upgrade kit to correct an issue that really feels like it shouldn't have been present anyway.

This is the first time I've actually really felt this to be fair. Hopefully this will remain the only one.

Otherwise, Mirage is pretty great. He just has the one issue.

Grimlock blows dinobots hinge joints off. Wow, way better color palette.

Anyone still wanting to buy Grimlock? (US only, please.) Mint, still strapped to the box. Any takers?

    EDIT: Sold.

    Ebay:
Finally opened my set last night. Mirage might be the first figure I've gotten since I started collecting again last fall that I'd say I regret getting. I like how he looks in robot mode, but he feels terrible in hand, with joints that are way too tight and tabs that are nearly impossible to get in for vehicle mode. Forcing the blue leg pieces up for vehicle mode feels especially terrifying, and I can't get the white halves of the front to sit flush or make all four wheels touch the ground. And while the car mode isn't bad for what it is, it wasn't until I was comparing it in hand to pictures of the Ligier JS11 last night that I realized how off it really is. It's got nothing in common aside from just the very basic F1 shape. I'll at least wait and see what Toyhax can come up for it, but I might end up deciding to sell him.

Unlikely I know, but I kind of hope that with Mirage being in ROTB, he becomes a more popular character again and they give him another shot in the second or third year of Legacy. As long as the new Dragstrip is faithful enough to the Tyrrell P34 and his original toy and cartoon designs, I think Mirage could work much better as a reshell of that, with an altered transformation where the chest is rotated 180˚.

I picked up those shoulder cannon holder pieces made by jrc on ebay and they work brilliantly. I just used one instead of both sides and it doesn't look out of place at all

Just an FYI - it's in-stock on the Canadian site right now. Not backorder or preorder or whatever, just plain in-stock. (Seems to be the case for SS/SW too).
    Mine should be here Tuesday!

Not sure if it's higher production run, better stocking by amazon, less scalping, or just lower demand than the Vans/Medics/Coneheads (probably a bit of all of them). *still praying for a second run on those*

No clue. I put mine up in storage pretty soon after I got it. Though my other WFC figures haven’t yellowed, including the ones that are prone to it.

I got no clue what's the cause however the moment I realised slight yellowing I put him in my glass case where the light doesn't touch but it seems like the humidity only accelerated the yellowing

What on earth is happening, Hasbro? Plastic quality has certainly taken a nosedive in recent years. Guess I'd better sell my Grimlock before he yellows. And now I'm worried about Tigatron too. Sigh.
