Well my position is if the Metroplex mold cost a couple hundred thousand (as it was said on this site) then they could throw in a repaint or slight retool of a deluxe figure with an extra million to play with. Thats where I stand and if some of the people who self appointed themselves an economics expert from their mothers basement dont agree with me, thats their choice. (Not talking about you) However when you say someone made a statement that was idiotic, you basically just called them an idiot. I dont sugarcoat disrespect.

Because Hasbro has a time table in which they'd like to run this campaign and produce this product. And since Takara is a partner on it, I'm sure any plans to run the campaign included the timing of Takara's window.

I've got that one documented here...
I don't think Saber will do quite so well, but I don't think it's unreasonable to think it can hit all three stretch goals by the end of the campaign. Galactus had an advantage in that once the final tier was revealed (and achieved) it turned the project in to an army builder.

That was Sentinel's strength from day one. A natural army builder figure on its own, but then they threw in three new heads on top of that. Saber doesn't really have anything like that. The speed at which it not only hit its goal but reached all of its stretches is a testament to that.

But they don't have an extra Million to play with. You're entire position seems to be based on the idea that there's no overhead, or that all the product sold after they hit funding will be produced for free. For every figure sold after they hit 11k, they have to pay for more to be made.

I know this won't happen but I just wished they would throw these additional items in and call it a day.

While I understand that logic, Im pretty sure the factories charge cheaper the more of a mold they order. The production and assembly is the cheap part as its done in 3rd world countries where workers might make a dollar USD an hour (or whatever they pay them) The real cost is creating the mold which is paid for at 11,000 backers. Id go even farther to say that the mold is already designed (not built) because they already got the grey prototype. They WANT to build this thing so its ready to go with the exception of actually casting the mold. Whether the guys who designed the grey prototype got paid already or only get paid for that work if the project gets funded remains unknown. But theres money to play with. Definitely enough to toss in a repaint of an existing figure (or slight retool) As long as they exploit cheap labor in 3rd world countries, its doable. And thats my opinion.

As with Unicron, the physical prototypes are 3D printed mockups at this point, not durable and not mass-producible. Molds would only be produced after the funding goals are achieved. A fully formed figure not already at the rendering/rapid prototyping stage could extend the delivery time by months even if approved.

That being said, I am a backer, and I hope we wind up with at least the shield, but I am not expecting dramatic tiers added for the first JG1 offering.

Part of the frustration is the "all or nothing" mentality I get from it all. Yes, there's extra money to play with. That's why Tier additions are possible. But to say "definitely enough for..." (let alone saying it's a million bucks) is well beyond what can be stated with such confidence.

And then to keep hiding behind "that's my opinion" as if such a statement insulates from all criticism.... Ugh.

I must have a number of people on ignore. The last few pages are just good people shouting into the void.

Just ignore it. The void won’t change.
