1) they do HasLab projects throughout the year. Are they ALL supposed to be around (US) tax time?

2) rather presumptuous to assume that most buyers get any sort of sizeable tax return, if any. I think around tax time would actually be a deterrent as people are much more money conscious at that time.

 

Would't it simply be a choice to have something like this be a "rare item" so it is either you want it now or you don't want it now. Thus never.

 

Huge tax refunds usually mean you're having too much withheld anyway.

My own immediate thought when I read "I don't understand" was "and we don't always have to."

 

Simple Answer: If you receive a tax refund, your not doing your all year round tax basis payroll/social security deductions correctly. You should not EVER receive a refund as you should NEVER be giving the government MORE money then it claims it is entitled to. You basically GIVE the government interest free money for the year before telling them you want it back...

Yeah, this. A large refund means that's money you haven't been able to make interest on over the year while the government did.

If that were the case then government would need insane amounts of people looking exactly at what you make, what you should be paying etc etc. No government is capable of that unless you want to pay even more taxes to pay the people who look over your taxes... But enjoy that rabbit hole.

Not saying he used the right words but he called your position on the matter "idiotic". I don't agree with him but neither with you. I take up a position a bit more in the middle. True that the 1.5 mil isn't just free money. However adding more incentive for future projects of the same type would work in their favor. If there is money left that they can use for a, lets say retool, then they benefit from adding a extra figure. There are plenty of repaints even that are legit G1 characters. Like for instance the blue cosmos from Henkei for example. It takes little effort to add a bonus figure to "celebrate" the success of this project.
It would sit well with the fanbase, and entice people to join in on new projects. Win-win.


Btw the blue cosmos is an example. Don't smash me for mentioning it!
