Well if showz's price is anywhere close to TFsource, this is a hard pass for me from AA. TFS has it up for $350, so showz maybe $300 then likely? Way too rich for my blood especially coming from a company not exactly known for amazing quality.

 

Apparently AAT think they are freaking Hot toys/ Flamestoys. Surpassing FT for stupidest spike in price.

So the rumors of Unique Toys coming back were true, if this thing ends up being properly priced I don't even see a reason to get alien attacks offering. There wont even be the associated risk of QC issues either. If the paint job is on similar par to the alien attack one I'll probs go all in on this guy instead.

In saying that, I do think the truck mode looks cleaner on alien attack, the gas tanks looks more cohesive there. Guess we'll see when we get more product shots.

Better front and overall proportions but messier back... I also like the truck of AA better. I may still get Mackron (or both  ) if AA decides to drop the price and the reviewers keep praising it.

My main concern with this is what others have already said, since the El Cid fiasco AA has a lot to demonstrate before they can ask this much for a figure, I really hope it ends up being very good, but now UT reapears to raise the bar again, at the end we are the winners since we now have 2 DOTM Megs to choose from.

 

The truck it's definitely much better than UT's, so credit where is due.


That said, i'm very skeptical about Mackatron's QC considering the company's track record. The most recent UT/TC figures had reports of quality issues anyway.
