Before the pandemic I worked a lot of retail (Target, walmart and TRU), and even before the shipping crisis it was shocking how badly the inventory was managed. Fun fact: the majority of the store inventory is controlled by computers that cross references how much stock is the floor, with how much is in the back/on rout. The problem with the system is: People make mistakes. Inventory on the floor gets lost/damaged/stolen daily, and all it takes is accidentally marking a single missing box as received, or moving something to where its not supposed to be to fuck with inventory in the back for months. Case in point: When I worked at Walmart, one of the new guys accidentally smashed case of cup noodle (about 36 cups). Somehow that case didn't get properly marked as no longer in the store inventory. Management didn't notice the discrepancy, and this caused our store to not have any cup noodles in stock for 4 months, as the computer thought there were 36 in the system, and didn't order more because we had "Sufficient stock". At TRU I found a case of toys that went missing 5 years prior, because it got moved into a weird spot near a air duct. Supply issues have only gotten worse thanks to the global shipping crisis. My local target has only gets 1 case of marvel legends every 3 weeks. The last thing I saw was the 2 pack with Happy, and that is only because I got there and lined up 5 minutes before opening.
Can confirm that order number has nothing to do with it. I ordered two the day it launched, and then I ordered a third during the final stretch. My single (third) one just shipped. So who knows what the methodology is? All I know is that I finally am getting at least one of them this week so yay for that.
Somebody posted this link in the fwoosh forums. A reviewer took the Sentinel leg apart to try to find the root of the problem.
Part of me is hoping the one produced later on the production like fixed the issue with the legs and that getting mine towards the end will get me a good one lol.
Haha, didn't think so. It was just odd I got mine earlier than a lot of people considering I usually get stuff last. The second one I ordered for my friend is shipping and will show up right around his birthday so the timing is perfect, haha! The one I have has good knees. Just from a general glance, it looks like those in Asian countries had the loose knee problem but not a lot of reports of it from those here in North America. Though I really haven't looked into it to say for sure one way or the other. Who knows.
I didnt go for the sentinel but you can best believe I'm praying Hasbro took notice of the issue and are making sure mah Galactus will not suffer the same fate. A sentinel with a bum knee I can legit call it a manufacturing defect. But the World Devourer does not have weak knees!
So I've heard rumors of a second No Way Home wave coming next year, and I really do think one's coming, based on rumors, there's a whole lot of characters that will be in it that we didn't get in the first wave. I just thought it would be fun to lay out my guesses for that wave. In spoilers just in case someone is trying to stay completely in the dark on this movie. Spoiler BAF Lizard 1. Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) 2. Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire) 3. Doc Ock 4. Electro 5. Sandman 6. Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) or Peter Parker (Tom Holland) Deluxe Green Goblin with glider Also, here's a wishlist for the next Spider-Man retro wave while I'm at it: 1. Iron Spider 2. Grey Goblin 3. Future Foundation Spidey 4. Carrion 5. Spider-Armor MK 2 6. Classic Vulture
Is that BAF Lizard from the movie or a comic one? If it is a comic one, then I'm all over it, if not, easy pass.
It would be movie-based. This is entirely speculation, but I’m assuming the whole wave will be movie based.
Gotcha. BTW, we already got classic Vulture. My Spider-Man retro wave would be: Romita Sr Spider-Man Romita Jr Hobgoblin Belladonna Classic Lizard Tarantula Aunt May with Uncle Ben's tombstone A deluxe sized classic Rhino A three pack of The Enforcers
Yeah, I know, Demogoblin wave, but I want him on the card lol. Aunt May would be perfect for a retro wave, I think she’s a shoe-in for a retro release in the next year or 2. If artist specific interpretations are on the table I’d give anything for a 3-pack of Bagley—styled Spidey, Carnage and Venom.
Have the Hasbro guys said anything official about the issue? It’s really interesting that there are actual ratcheting mechanisms in those joints…yet they don’t appear to work. Does anyone have a Sentinel that has working knee ratchets? Bummer of an issue…
I would have liked to have seen the guy test the knees to see if they actually ratchet with that washer that he made. Don't you know the Hasbro design guys have to be pissed knowing that they created ratchets but that they don't work either due to a design flaw or shoddy assembly during manufacturing. I can see a plastic washer kit coming out from a 3rd party modding company, though.
Looks like my Sentinel just shipped. Surprising since I backed it on the last day. We'll see how those knees turn out.
That ratcheting mechanism looks very weak. It might've made more sense to use the kind they used to use back during Energon. If you take apart an E-Ironhide, you'll find two discs with slanted teeth on the flat side. Then you'll see two springs pushing them together. But the key is that the springs allow the joint to move without grinding the teeth. What they've done in the Sentinel is going to grind down pretty fast and then be completely useless.
What they’re using now is a shared or similar system used with current Transformers. Guessing the spring ratchets are too expensive to implement now. I don’t have the Sentinel but if it was cast primarily in PVC, ratchets with springs might’ve been best to counter the weight. I have the old Masterworks Sentinels and those were very heavy from being cast in dense PVC.
Zombie Hunter Spidey, Heist Nebula, Shriek and Druig are up on GameStop as of this morning. Picked up Spidey and Shriek.
