    You're talking about a sphere of plastic. Just a sphere. That's the most balanced any form of matter can take with the most even distribution of net forces.

    The human form is one of the WORST objects to scale. Hence all of the articles that debunk the viability of giant humanoid robots in real life.

    And we're still only talking about weight handling. We're not even getting into any of the myriad other forces we need to contend with. We've already seen Terminus Giganticus and Constructor's and some DX9 Menasor's hips or knees explode due to the backlash forces from the ratchet mechanisms. Now we have to contend with a toy twice the size of those.

    Larger articulated mechanics in regular use don't use ratchet mechanisms for joint resistance. They use pneumatics.

    Im not complaining about everyone turning into mathletes all the sudden. I find it interesting what some of u guys are coming up with but id like to interject something. How do we know this doesn't come with some kind of stand system? It wouldnt be hard for them to come up with something that attaches to the back. I know this idea throws all the mass v weight and square roots of pie theories out the window but it is feasible and would make a whole lot of sense. I dont want to get into the haslab unicron discussion but doesnt it come with a stand for pretty much the same reasons? I also know ft isnt notorious for providing stands but they also arent known for producing city bots either. Id love it to stand freely on its own but lets be realistic. Either they know how to do this better than we do or it comes with a stand.

    Can't help but wonder why they chose Fort Max for their city bot. Compared to Trypticon, Scorponok or even Metroplex, the design is just so... Well.. so bloody boring.

    Relatively simple design (lay on back fold in legs in, flip out ramp). They can re-use the headmaster molds they have as well.

    Edit, also, compared to Metroplex and Trypticon, relatively compact city mode.

    That’d be amazing if they included a flight stand. Hahaha.

    There's no need for a stand if you buy two. Then you can stand them back to back BFF style!!!

    I am telling you people. Dpuff is a g**damn genius!!!

    Fair enough, but if I'm going to drop God knows how much on an MP city bot, I want one that looks a bit more interesting than this guy.

    HasLab Unicron comes with a stand because it's difficult to display his planet mode without it.

    It adds extra security in his robot mode, but it's not required. He's capable of standing and posing unassisted.

    "Square-Cube Law" is not advanced mathematics by the way. It's elementary school geometry, and a touch of high school physics. Length>Area>Volume. Height is just a single dimension. When you talk about increasing on object's height, it's assumed you're talking proportionately, and that you don't want a version of the thing that's super tall, but skinny and flat. If you want the object doubled in height, the all other dimensions need to change in accord: length/height, width, depth. 2x2×2=8. Mass is also a function of volume, so increases at the same rate.

    That's the ballpark math, at any rate. Manufacturing limits and certain optimizations mean that the mass ratio won't be EXACT, but it gives you an idea of what to expect.

    We only have the renders, but this one looks good to me. Better proportions than the G1 toy, leagues better articulation, though those hips and knees are going to be a work-out. Ratchets will all sound like breaking plastic with every click.

    If anything, Metroplex with the panel opening lower legs might be structurally more risky as the lower legs have to be fairly hollow, and then there are the feet. The old G1 toy just had blocks for the feet. Ankle articulation of any kind along with weight bearing... I can see Trypticon being done, but there would always be that need for Metroplex.

    Fort Max just seems more doable at this scale. And if he does well enough, I can see Skorponok as a possibility.

    Could happen. Although if that was gonna be the solution, I think I'd prefer what that giant Gundam does and just have the legs solid and not articulated so it supports the figure no problem. Would at least look better than with a post behind him. I know you need hip movement for transformation, but could be lockable.

    I'm thinking we may get locking joints on this thing. Unlock them to pose and lock again when done posing.

    Show.Z, TF-Direct and Bombusbee are always the cheapest. Especially compared to American retailers.

    So for everyone dispututing weight and mass and stability..you are taking into account density since we are on a flat earth and not a globe earth with gravity............jkjk..haha..stiring it up

    E = mc^2

    m = E/c^2

    c = sqrt of E/m

    How am I doing, mommy?

    I remember seeing someone review the Neca 24" Balrog from LOTR and that thing couldn't stand because of how heavy it was. All the articulation was pointless.

    I have a feeling this toy is going to be a disaster.
