You want something adjustable that can go up in low increments; the LCD screen ones will typically do that. Mine isn't cheap, but I've used it so many times that it's worth it. Mine has 10F degree adjustments. Just used it today to fix all the warped blast effects and tail piece from the Tricranius set. The cheapest ones only have a few settings but are way too high (meant for stripping paint) and will melt plastic right away.

    This is mine:
    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Wagner-Furno-750-Heat-Gun-0503064/206723944

I typically use 250F for 15-20 seconds for thinner pieces and longer for thicker pieces. I also use it a lot to remove labels without damage (150-200F).

You can probably find cheaper on Amazon, but again look for something that is adjustable in the lower temp ranges at low increments (like 10F).

I had been wondering what the best option was since I've never dealt with a warped 3D printed part let alone a painted one. Sadly I only have a hair dryer so I'm gonna have to try that and hope for the best.

I don't know what's worse though, how warped it arrived or the finish. For the price it was I don't think the chrome silver blade looks good.

These have been recently listed and I don't think they're selling outside of Taobao yet, but I'm expecting that they'll be available on sites like eBay or TFSafari soon. Machine Boy Warpath was not difficult to find on AliExpress, but it was hard to find outside.

Looks like my Go Better van wheels and SL Unicron eyes package will keep getting delayed and delayed.

Anyhow, got some more of the KO pieces. Overall good but some minor-ish QC issues.

QC: Obvious mold lines. The earlier weapons set managed to hide them well, but the additional mold lines from the silicone molds is quite evident here for the more complex pieces. Better mold setups can hide them better. Filing / sanding can remove them, though.

Air vents affecting attachment sites. Venting is needed in molds to allow air bubbles to escape. However, these may cause additional marks on the finished casts, especially when they're cut off (vents create solid additional resin parts after casting).

The paint. On one hand, I'm glad the glittery finish is gone. On the other hand, this has the dry, powdery feel to it...which means it will come off. My fingers already started to become a little discolored with light handling. Dang it. There's also stray paint marks; see below.

    Trailbreaker radar from Centurion set.

Bought these for ER Scorponok's alt mode. Overall, they look good and the pegs work.
    ko1.jpg

The bottom of the pegs appear to have been used for air vents. It's annoying when pegs are painted over but at least be consistent about it (bottom arrow). Top arrow shows a silicone mold line.
    ko2.jpg

    Roller from Centurion Set.

Overall, also a pretty good job, especially considering 7 parts are needed and the wheels roll just fine. All the ports also work.
    ko4.jpg

The tail / exhaust pegs appear to have been used for air vents and look quite rough. Some filing / sanding work would have made that look a lot better.
    ko5.jpg

There are some painting issues with the wheels: uneven finish and stray silver paint.
    ko6.jpg

The silicone mold line is visible here.
    ko7.jpg

Overall, these ended up pretty good. Some QC issues but not relatively minor. Really don't like the dry powdery finish of the metallic paint.

I'll probably end up removing the silicone mold lines since I do that on my casting work anyways. I'll definitely end up repainting due to the metallic paint finish. Some others may not mind these things although I would suggest at least a clear coat.

    Just saw the video review:

Sux that you gotta remove the crotch piece to get it to beast mode, and that the longer legs means it's perpetually in the 'bout to strike pose, but TBH I just want a good bot mode so it fulfills its purpose. Besides, I already ordered it from sweetmall yesterday so either way I'm all-in. It will make a good modern piece next to reissue scorpy, the one Mega I regret not getting back in the heyday of BW.

Those are awesome, especially the Smokescreen ones! Now the question is, do I start down the slippery slope of buying upgraded wheels for every single carbot I own if they keep getting made?

Sweetmall and smea posted auctions for Core Megatron and Core Starscream. The Core Megatron turret blaster is something I posted about before but these pictures look somewhat better. Thought it was nylon at first from the earlier poor quality pics. The null rays are convertible and originally made for small 3rd party figures, but looks like they have 3mm pegs to work on Core class figures.

Weapon Upgrade Kit For Kingdom Core Class Starscream Null Rays / Megatron Barrel | eBay

    s-l500 (1).jpg s-l1600 (1).jpg

I think the null rays are a little bit too long in bot mode but look fine in alt mode.
    s-l1600.jpg s-l500.jpg

The null rays are made by 超人制造v (Superman Made V per Google?), which is the latest group to accuse DNA Design of stealing their, um, designs. Can't verify if the turret is made by the same group or not.

I figured the claws can't close when the missiles are inside. The open gap in the chest looks annoying.

The longer legs also break alt mode but in a different (still not good) way than the earlier leg extenders. We're passing on this one. Thanks for the video link.

Yeah, it looked so nice in the promo pics.
    Bummer that it's just aesthetic.

    Those look incredible! Oooh.
Seeing that you're now printing Robots '78's designs, I have to ask... Do you ever take custom orders? For example, let's say I find something on Thingiverse or something of that nature and I simply don't have a printer. Can I (or anyone) hire your services to produce that item for me/us? I know your machines are tied up producing stuff you've already planned out/designed, but I was curious and just thought I should ask.

Nice! Certainly interested inthe Starscream Null-rays…. because I managed to lose the other two. Yes both. Shameful. And I love the fact these convert like the new masterpiece figures’ weapons.

Price puts me off a bit, as that’s a big chunk of the figure’s actual price, but considering these things are usually a bit pricey and these do more than your average weapons.

Does anyone produce a transforming null ray for the Voyager Class figures? I'd buy those... Heck, even a KO of the MP's would be fine.

Thank you! Sheesh... $18.00 per Seeker... Yikes. I get that resources aren't cheap and the shipping is included, but dang. Either those eBay fees are ridiculous overseas or they know they're milking it for all it's worth. If I could get a kit that made null rays for all Seekers/Coneheads that included a discount, that would be one thing but ouch...

I think this is the same video I posted a couple weeks ago. But yeah its basically perfect for me and fixes all the issues I had with the figure as released (one of the worst looking Kingdom figures so far imo). The parts forming doesn't bother me, and the attack mode scorpion isnt as bad as the first set of leg extenders released. Should be a good set, can't wait to get it.

Yesh, the price for the Null Rays is a bit high, but at least they're quite nice.

Heck, the prices for 98% of these upgrades just seem ludicrous. Between low resolution prints, the "first to market" thing and lack of decent engineering research, it's difficult to pick and choose the best values and quality.

Edit: Just got the Galvatron shoes yesterday. They come in stark white, so I sprayed them black.
Overall, I actually like them. The print quality is much better than many, the fit is tight and the look is interesting.
They do make his feet seem a bit too long, but it isn't bad in hand.

For what it's worth, I once was talking with one of those Chinese eBayers about returning a dud set of their 3D printed guns a while back, and between pleading for me to accept a partial refund they mentioned something about making only $2.00 USD in profit from a ~$15 pair. They really don't want things sent back to them.
