There are all kinds of magic involving him, ain't it? (as us Ohioans would say...)

    EDIT:

Where's the guide for the whips?? I can't find it. I checked here and his Insta and all I saw was his last upload (according to the page) of him applying floor polish to Jolt's joints. (And no, it's not a caching error since I've never been to his Insta before. I rarely ever go on the site at all. I think once every 6 months, actually. lol)

Studio series 38 Optimus doesn’t have a 1:1 KO. Only a 9” oversized one. Only the ROTF and BB primes have KO’s that are almost identical. Edit: mixed up the SS numbers.

SS BB prime’s KO can be identified by his chest being diecast. That’s the easiest way to tell it’s a KO. So it’ll be cold metal if it’s the KO.

SS38 is the BB Optimus Prime. There is definitely a 1:1 KO but I think it has diecast. I have the Nemesis and Shattered Glass versions, quality is very good aside from having to trim a little mold flash

Here's what @Shmoptimus Prime said in a post a couple of days ago:

"It was easy! I put my wife's hair dryer next to the sink on a medium setting, opened the faucet to cold water, held the whips in front of the hair dryer for a few minutes while gently bending them into shape (took a few minutes but they got easier to bend as they got warmer). Once I had them in the shape I wanted I held them for another half a minute or so, then quickly put them under the cold water. This shocks them back to rigidity and makes them much more likely to hold their shape! Keep holding them with your fingers while they're under the cold water. After 30 secs of that they should hold their shape perfectly."

I followed this exactly and it worked. I probably could have gotten a sharper bend if I put a little more effort in.

THANK YOU! Awesome. I don't even know how I missed that but I did and I should've paid better attention. Thank you, so much.

Looking really good guys! The curved whip to me is an essential mod for this figure. Here's my Jolt attempting to override Devastator's brain (or what's left of it once he's combined):

Thanks to @Shadow25 for reposting my comment but I am actually gonna post a video guide on my insta sometime this week as well if you'd rather wait for that.

I’d say he had good availability for a good year, from his release to early 2020. After that he shot up in value. But that’s par for the course with most new figures nowadays. Siege Ironhide was the same way.

Popular character with more and more people wanting to re-sell. Unfortunately my only SS scaled bay prime I have is the evasion figure from AOE… so….. wish the 07 mold from studio series was re-released.

That mold got re-released as Jetwing Prime, but I think that would be hard to find too.

This is probably the most annoying part of the hobby. If you can't find, or you don't pull the trigger when a figure is being produced, then you're at the mercy of a possible reissue or worse, ebay. I just went through this with dropkick.

It really is lame that car Shatter got a reissue before stuff like Ironhide and 07 Prime.

What color blue are you using to do touchups to Jolt? I only have a blue Elmer's paint marker, but it seems to be too warm of a blue to match, so I don't want to try it.

God, that color of blue on the actual car is so beautiful.

    I don't need it. I don't need it. I DON'T NEED IT.

Vallejo blue should work (i use the mecha one)

Also...i caved and ordered that starscream only because i had store credit from my LS03 getting lost. There is actually so much good stuff right now like OS KO UT prime BA prime and Sentinel that i fear i might regret this purchase lol.

I went with the standard blue Gundam marker. It's just very slightly lighter but very hard to notice unless you're taking flash photography.
