Fantastic. It's one of the things he was absolutely missing. And I even test-transformed his feet on mine. They can easily rest around a panel like that. I'm sure we'll see more of these (personally looking for something with a touch of detail without being Siege-greebly), but this is cool!

SOmeone posted a video of a 'best possible' transformation but I can't find the link. Anybody have it? I wanna see how it compares to what I've been doing.

At Last!! My very own DS001 Crimson Wings!!

    20210925_152004_HDR~2.jpg
    20210925_151709_HDR~2.jpg

Great looking figure! Show.Z got him to me fairly quickly!

My only grievance is minor. There are exposed holes when the red intake vents are pushed forward... so, I think I'll keep the intake vents pushed back.

Other than that, DS001 Crimson Wings is masterpiece-scale perfection!!

    20210924_154530_HDR~2.jpg

When my wife saw him compared to the older models, she was like.. "Why did we ever think these looked good?! And why is Starscream green?!"

    20210924_152612_HDR~2.jpg

After explaining that the original MP-3 was modeled after a real F-15 Eagle, and that MP-11 was an effort to update the previous model, she yawned and was like "Nope... this guy IS Starscream... I think you're just making excuses for Takara or Hasbro."

    She may be right!

20210924_154257_HDR~2.jpg "Let's toast to how great I look!"

20210924_155511_HDR~2.jpg "You look so good that you can betray me anytime!!"

    20210924_155812_HDR~2.jpg

I think someone asked about seeing Crimson Wings with FT-14 Phoenix... so here's one.

    Below are some team shots.

    20210925_145130_HDR~2.jpg

This new 3P/KO (not quite sure how to classify Crimson Wings) Starscream looks so good, it made me preorder Robot Paradise (FT Soundwave). I don't think I will ever upgrade my Cloud9 Quakeblast though. But who knows... as T.E. Lawrence said.. "Nothing is Written."

Can't wait to pick up Deformation Space's Skywarp and Thundercracker!

    That about sums it up!

I actually did this same thing with my Maketoys Seekers and think it made them much more toon accurate. Hadn't thought of doing it to DS-01.

It absolutely is a render; if you look closely, it has no screws or pins and the tailfins are held together by nothing.

I'm so glad I got this figure. Every time I look at him on my shelf or see a picture I hear "how do you feel, mighty Megatron?!"

    Bring on Skywarp and Thundercracker!

i've transformed him a bazillion times now and have gotten the hang of it enough to enjoy transforming him.

Anyone else finding the transformation to be not so bad after a while?

I’m sure it’s like most things, where repetition makes it easier. Roadking was absurd the first time, then got easier every further transformation.

I always said MFT Astrotrain was the best version of animated Astrotrain ever.
They only really need to add extra articulation to the wings like they've don't to DS01, where the wings can also fold backwards.
That was my biggest problem I had with Thomas, so I just boxed him back up because it was so annoying to me.

I own MT Meteor, and as much as I like him, I hate the fact they kept the bar on the back of the calves, it just ruins the shilouette.

Both TT and DS fixed that, but DS just did a better job hiding the swivel joints inside the calves.

    Cant wait to get mine

Unless you want to glue it shut, it's probably not staying in place. My copy has the same issue.

Here's what I did/do. It helps a lot but of course because of how the leg is designed, it's easy to knock out of place. Doing these steps has just made it easier for it to align and not have pressure pushing outwards preventing it from staying in place. Ultimately this panel needs a tab of some sort to hold it more securely and it wouldn't have compromised anything if they would have incorporated one. Even though that panel flips from bot to alt making the inside become the outside and top become the bottom, a tab wouldn't interfere with either mode and could have been put in a number of places. This so far is the only thing I would like to see them address for a version 2. I have a couple ideas to make a tab that can easily be applied without sacrificing anything.

Nice work! Thanks for sharing the specifics on the paint. These are amazing improvements to an already amazing figure.

I hope someone offers sets of both null rays vents for those of us without 3-D printers.

Hm... a screw broke at the red part connecting upper and lower body. The part goes over a peg, so it won't fall off or anything, but it's a tiny QC issue. Did more people notice this?
