"Once we mass-produce the Victory-type, we'll put an end to the Zanscare Empire in no time!!" - What the League Militaire wishes the Victory-type could accomplish, probably.
my first-ever GUNPLA, -and first-ever "sophisticated" Mecha model- (non-paint-and-glue) the original 1993 HG 1/100, found at a shop in 1997;
The rarity of the HG version This basically all but confirms everything from G-Unit will get a kit, since L.O. Booster would just be the Geminass 01 with additional parts, Aesculapius could get retooled into the other, similar suit that the crazy Stardust Knights guy uses and proves the PX System's lethality to its own pilot, the Mercutius/Vayate successor units would be piss easy to make from the existing two-unit set, and Hydra is just a given at that point. Plus the other two Leo-S variants, of course.
I wouldn't get too ahead. Aesculapius is a Geminass remodel. The other GUnit suits don't share any overt mechanics.
found the new line at movie trading company (for a bit of a mark up) I’ve heard some people say they like MSIA I disagree, astray kinda sucks, and due to a line wide gimmick I don’t think the others will be any better This is Literally the farthest the shoulders an hips can move outward Also no thigh or bicep swivel this is the extent of the bend in the knees and elbows wrists and ankles are limited ball joints and the waist basically just a swivel The gimmick is standardized joints, so it’s doubtful that any others in the line will have better articulation that’s about as cool as I get it looking no outward movement to speak of on the hips and shoulders combined with no thigh or bicep swivel hurt this line so much imo i think regular msrp is like 15 If they were 10 I’d be slightly more forgiving, but honestly as it is now the line doesn’t hold a candle to MSIA and doesn’t feel worth my money Also the sword is flaccid Imma mod it to see if I can at least get better outward movement
They look like the kind of thing you'd find at Big Lots with a "2 for $4" sticker on it on a good day, at full price. Seriously, kill it with fire!
My eyes hurt seeing this. Is Bandai America trying to make Hasbo buy the domestic rights to Gundam too? ..... this two pack just defeats the whole idea of the Build a Figure Zaku.... not to mention, why make the Zaku in GRUNT INFANTRY STANDARD GREEN, the Build-A-Figure to begin with!??!
On the subject of the BAF Zaku II...it's actually fiendishly clever. I stand by the argument that of the OG Mobile Suits, the Zaku II is in fact more iconic because its gets its ass kicked so much than the Grandaddy itself and this is not simply because Char's Zaku II is itself iconic - I'm talking the basic MS-06 models. After all, it even manages to survive well into Correct Century under a different name (even the Zaku I has a slight redesign with the head pipes but the Zaku II is straight up unchanged). So, with the BAF, you're forced to get all the suits in order to get what amounts to an army builder, which in turn doesn't impact the two-pack because then you have two Zaku II's, which is perfect because that's how many were present in the first real fight of the franchise when Amuro is forced to sortie in the Gundam for the first time.
I just see it as the waste of resources and an underwhelming, undersized finished BAF. I mean this from looking at the Hasbro/Marvel Legends (business) model. The Build-A-Figure is something larger in scale that doesn't fit the budget price of a regular scale figure. Not to mention the attention to the figure you're buying *for* the BAF. These MSIA abominations look like knock offs of dollar store knock offs and you're getting the component for a figure of the same size, which is then about the size of a standard accessory for said figure. What would make the BAF concept for this line successful is to make the BAF something larger, say the Zakrello or even the Psycho Zaku. Making the *complete* Zaku into a Two-Pack exclusive (is it even a store exclusive or just a two pack and they label it "exclusive" because it has the entire Zaku in it?) kind of defeats the entire idea of making the Zaku the first(please be last) wave BAF. In terms of the iconograghy of the granddaddy Mobile Suits of Gundam History, if the draw for fans is to get the RX-78-2 and MS-06, they don't need to collect 'em all, they just need the two pack.
Broke the antenna just the 2nd day I finished it. Maybe it's a sign to break that face too. I like the "New" retro design of the face and chest but the face just looks clownish small in real life.
Just finished this little chap here. Its really quite a beast. I got a bit carried away on the decals there, but it was fun. I hear that the RG version is also ace, but MG is enough for me for now. I thought this guy would be stockier than it is. Its just the big feet that throws you off in pictures. Its actuelly quite well articulated when you get it in hand. Next thing I build will be a bit smaller I think. Not actually sure where I will put this guy.
Yeahhhh AoZ ver. Barzam is actually really damn cool. Went for the Zeon version because I love the hover units...and the colors rock.
Unwrapped my Birthday gifts from my sister, niece and nephew, and myself using a Barnes and Noble coupon. Amatsu Mina is officially my first High Grade Astray kit. I didn't want to upset the kids by saying I already have the Zero 2.0 *but haven't built it yet* so I'm looking for those Third Party Snow White Prelude conversion parts to make it even more special. Anybody know where else I can find them besides scrounging Ebay? AW model 1/100 wing snow white prelude add on part | eBay
