Venom is definitely the weird one out of the Deluxes Insecticons to pull off as a retool. Chop Shop has been a Shrapnel redeco before, and Ransack and Barrage turn into the same basic insects as Kickback and Bombshell. But Venom (funnily enough, my favorite of the deluxe Insecticons), is a cicada, which there's really no other base mold which fits. The closest I could see would be Bombshell maybe, but that would be a heavy retool.

Beet-papil would be neat too, but I'd say just make a female Insecticon named Glowstrike who is based on Beet-papil and fits in with the traditional Insecticon trio (since Beet-papil follows the naming convention of the Beetrus line the deluxe guys came from, so Hasbro probably can't get away with that). Basically make her the Slash of the Insecticons, I've always considered the Insecticons the rivals of the Dinobots anyway.

Thinking about how from what we're told about the SHINE subline it's about certain core characters getting reimagined designs if a bit minor such as us getting a version of Starscream from Armada Starscream I now can't help but wodner if that's where the Optimus Prime retool of the Bulkhead mold fits in? I mean think about it the retool does fit into the theme of SHINE being slightly reimagined designs for classic characters and with how the bulkhead mold has a more heroic build to him compared to pas designs this can't be a coincidence.

 

Well, hopefully it doesn't get scalped to high heaven and everyone finds theirs. With everything coming out next year, I can't justify $85 for Goldbug. My wife and I each take $20 a week for personal spending and another $40-50 each for Christmas, birthday, Anniversary, Valentine's, and Fathers Day and I exceeded it this year and next year doesnt look like I'll stick to budget either! If there was one other figure that I really wanted, maybe. But not for a single deluxe.

 

That's a great point. However, if the game got pushed back it may be a while before we know.

 

I’d say make venom and beet papil/ glowstrike a two pack of new molds maybe? Idk they seem to be the least likely to get new toys imo.

 

Beet Papil (and I call her Glowstrike because it’s the closest name they’ve already used that’s appropriate) is the “lost” fifth Deluxe Insecticon, and she should totally join her brethren, even if they can’t use that exact design, they could use RID15 Glowstrike as a template and go from there. They could just say it’s a G1ified Glowstrike and walk away.

Maybe they could use Kingdom Waspinator to retool into Venom… I don’t care how they do it, I just want a nice updated Venom.

 

Yeah there are many different ways they could do them. But seeing as Venom/ Glowstrike (BP) would probably need new molds, they seem less likely. The other three could be repaints/ slight retools.

 

I had to research who the F is Beet Papil. Wow I never knew there was another deluxe Insecticon never produced. I mean I understand why they did. Her concept art design look really different that the others aesthetics. They didn’t had the balls to make Arcee in the 80’s, let alone the fembots who had one episode. There is no way they would have make a female transformers, from a subgroup that wasn’t even used in the cartoon.

I kinda like what some modern fanart did with her design, where her wings look like a dress/skirt in robot mode. Hell now that they have done trying to push Windblade, they should try with Beet Papil. But first that stupid name has to go...

 

Well, we've seen how much Hasbro can change with retools, so I'm not entirely without hope that any Deluxe Insecticons would strongly resemble their G1 incarnations.

And yeah, I definitely need a Beet Papil/Glowstrike. I wouldn't turn down a Saberhorn either. And I still want a Bombshell (p)retool into Goldbug. And maybe Glyph and Tap-Out as bugbots too.

Well, the first name was from Bandai like the rest of the deluxe Insecticons before Hasbro licensed them and changed their names. Bandai was the one who never made a figure of Beet Papil iirc.

 

If I was being REAL greedy I’d say make new characters out of the potential remolds of Chop Shop and Barrage.

Glowstrike (Beet Papil) would be a good figure to honor RiD 2015 in Legacy, just sayin'. And if it happened to skew G1 deluxe insecticon-like, well, those are the sort of non-litigable accidents that happen in designs...

Buzzworthy 4pk with Legacy-/WfC-engineering RiD2015 Bumblebee (ER Runamuck retool?), Strongarm (new mold), Steeljaw (retool of Strongarm), and Glowstrike (pretool of Legacy Bombshell)

 

They could even do a major retool of Kingdom Blackarachnia and I’d be happy..

 

He’s more than likely one of them.

 

So, despite physical copies already floating around he won't be released until next year? Huh.

 

Shipping logistics is a nightmare right now. It may take months for him to show up at retail even copies are leaking out.
