VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE Director Andy Serkis Explains Why He Used CG Instead Of Motion-Capture Turns out that both Venom and Carnage are brought to life in the film primarily with computer-generated VFX. There is motion-capture, just not as much as expected from Serkis directing. "I’ve spent a considerable amount of my life playing a character with two sides to his personality," Serkis explains. "I felt that this film should free up Tom to imagine Venom’s presence. It wouldn't be helpful for him to act opposite a man in a suit, because Venom is a symbiote coming out of him. We wanted to give Tom the freedom in his process to give the performance he wanted." Well, the CGI does look incredible. And since the symbiotes are generally different shapes and textures, using less mo-cap sounds fine.
VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE Star Stephen Graham Reveals New Details About Detective Patrick Mulligan "He's got a chip on his shoulder for a lot of reasons," he says. "There was a major incident as a young rookie – it mentally scarred him and he lost the hearing in his left ear, which became a disability for his police career and got him assigned to menial jobs. He was constantly overlooked by the hierarchy of the police system, and he’s an angry, bitter man." "Eddie is getting the last interview with Cletus Kasady – something he feels he should be entitled to, and not some snotty rogue reporter," the actor adds, hinting at tension between the two.
Venom 2 Director Confirms Future Crossover With Tom Holland's Spider-Man "Look, that's the question on everyone's lips," Serkis told IGN. "They want to know if Venom is gonna meet Spider-Man, but personally, it's never gonna happen. I'm only joking, of course it's gonna happen..."

VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE Four-Minute Clip Unleashes Maximum Carnage On Countless Victims I think it's a spoiler event, so maybe it shouldn't have been released. But it looks insane. Those guests must have thought Kasady had turned into a demon from hell.
Yeah, imagine coming in expecting some sort of justice by witnessing the execution of the maniac that murdered your loved one just to see that curveball. It'd really make you question if the universe just hates you and your family. On a less somber note...
