Received an email to confirm another delay for Gnaw, to October 7th. A this point, I'm excepting it before Christmas or a cancellation.

I ordered 3 Gnaw from Target. I got 2 of them 2 weeks ago. The third one been delayed twice now. As of now, I’m expecting it to be eventually cancelled by Target. I got each Gnaw for $19.99 at target while hasbropulse/Amazon had it for $22.99 dollars. I buy so many collectibles that I try to save as much money as possible where I can.

I have now ordered Gnaw from three different places........one of them HAS to come through, right?

First, Pulse, the day pre-orders went live......that's been pushed till November.

Second, Amazon, the day pre-orders went live, maybe 30 min after Pulse order was placed, when I noticed they had an earlier release date.................has now been back ordered about 10 times requesting me to "accept delay".

Third, Gamestop, one random day in August he showed as "being in stock' -- ordered a pair immediately to get free shipping, only for "preparing shipment" to change to "awaiting availability" -- friend of mine who ordered the exact same time already got his.

Tell me about it. My Amazon PO got delayed, so here’s hoping I get lucky on a target or Walmart run.

I found two Gnaws in store last week but decided to keep my pre orders with Target and Amazon. If I receive my pre orders, I can help out anyone who is unlucky enough to not receive their orders.

I also had pre-orders in for Gnaw at BBTS, Pulse, and Amazon. I think BBTS did get some in but my pre-order wasn't one of the lucky ones to get filled. I finally found one at a local Wal-Mart so I went back and cancelled all three pre-orders.

I'd say about 50% of the time that happens to me, but lately with COVID shipping delays and stores not re-stocking or whatever, my luck hasn't been too great!

Question about Road Rage. Will she be available in store like T Wrecks was or just online only? I thought someone posted on Seibertron.com her target dpci on their handheld but wasn't sure tho. Would love to get her but I'm not a red card member to obtain her. Anyone who has her and doesn't care for her willing to trade?

No one knows at this point in time. That scenario would make sense but, it's retail and corporate is in charge.

The DPCI number will exist for anything that Target sells (including RedCard exclusives, online only items, etc.) because, that's how inventory is tracked. The DPCI number is what Target calls the SKU number. Stores (and thus the Zebra devices) have access to all the DPCI numbers (as well as other store OHs, in trainsit, etc.) because they are all connected to the same inventory system (this makes sense from a logistics aspect but it also allows employees to help customers find local locations that might have an item in stock or if they need to order it online due to no OHs). I'm not sure about RedCard status items but, the Zebra will definitely disclose if something has an "online only" status (possibly "Target exclusive" status as well but, I don't recall).

Overall, you have a decent grasp on things, but the online stock check system is not the same as the Zebra-based one. It supposedly gets updated from the latter database every so often, but it's separate, and often flat out the opposite of reality.

Even the internal system is not accurate regarding local stores other than the one the particular Zebra is in, and, worst-case scenario, it can even be wrong about that store's stock.

In a nutshell, trust no employee who says a store across town has something without calling them to check. Veteran employees know the whole system is a joke, and will call...and usually then break it to you gently that it's actually not there.

Target stores use "repack" boxes. Items are unpacked and placed into these boxes before they go onto shelves. This "limbo" often creates confusion about actual stock in the store.

Employees are not supposed to go through all the repack boxes looking for what you want...as there could be a hundred or so back there.

If you're fortunate and talk to a toy-specific employee, you may get lucky and they may have an idea where certain items are at. That's how we got our Worlds Collide set when we were out hunting for Lego Luigi sets when they first got released.
