That shield sure is a... plank of plastic.

I'm not one of those "Galactus got three whole action figures as extras why not us" guys but, idunno I was hoping for some extras that were a little more flashy.

Lol that’s fine just don’t tell me to not call them toys and we’re good, you know? No issue with what you call them just don’t like when others try to make rules for me.

Oh, I absolutely love what Netflix did to BW Megatron. Mr "i have plans within plans within plans! Yessssss!" turned into the world's largest suck-up? Hilarious!

...maybe I'll stop sh*tting on all things BW once VS is fully funded... maybe... (Still salty that SS lost to munky in POTP)

The problem with that list is that it is easy to do for Hasbro. For example God Ginrai is a prime and that always sell. Some are easy and cheap repaints for the company like Liokaiser. Some stuff got more spotlight due to comics like Overlord. Some are selects repaints and such.

Doing a whole new mold of chracter that not have been presented in the west very much is a diffrent thing. for example Road Ceaser. Question is qould it be cost effectiv for HAsbro to do so, doing the mold, produce it, sell enough to make a winning.

It is easy for us to sitt here and say, why dont they do this, why dont they do that...none fo the ppl here runs HAsbro or have a position in that company on a higher level and can answer this.

It's meaningless. It's really just because you're being insecure about what you're doing, about thinking that in the end your "collectibles" have some kind of value after you die. I'm not going to lie to anyone. I'm a TOY collector. No amount of hemming and hawing is going to change the fact that I, as an adult, is spending my hard earned money on things intended for kids and teens.

Some folks around here just seem to be more insecure than the rest of us.

Doesn't that depend on what you're buying? Masterpiece says 15 and up on Hasbro Pulse.

Well yes I always say mps are not for kids. They are definitely for adult collectors

Ah yeah I know but there's a lot of ignorance and disrespect given to us about our hobby. It's pathetic really. I've put up with a lot of crap over the years about it.

There really isn’t a whole lot you can add to Victory Saber to make him even more flashy. The set is already Star Saber and Victory Leo together for a reasonable price, not much more they can add to these characters.

Like I said, most of it was low hanging fruit. It's rare to get 100% new molds dedicated to JG1 like Overlord and Metalhawk, who both benefitted a little bit from IDW inclusion. But it's also incorrect to say that Hasbro/Takara/TOMY has been mostly ignoring JG1 as well.

Titans Return is the gift that keeps on giving and if it keeps spawning low hanging fruit, more power to it. Brave Maximus still needs his update, as well as proper updates to the Junior Headmasters. Fangry at least got us on the right track...let's see if they can keep it going.

There's touching on it versus really doing a whole series with it. They've skimmed it, but a lot of that stuff exists only because Hasbro.

Galactus was also $400 instead of $180. So those stretch goals were an extra $220 per backer even if the backer levels were relatively close to Saber's.

There is a lot of ignorance and disrespect from people within this group to other people within this group. See attitudes towards Bay, Rescue Bots, or really anything that isn't "Generations" in terms of look or story.

I loved it as a "What If" situation. BW Megatron was this total badass, sure...but what happens in a universe where he actually meets his idol? I kinda like the idea that he immediately loses all pretense of baddassery and turns in to a drooling fanboy.

It was also an interesting plot line in that BW Megatron, fanboy he was, wanted to help his idol avoid the failures of his own past.

I've been good about not buying any Titans lately since I don't have the space and they haven't seemed that interesting to me, but if they announce a Brave Max, I will sell WHATEVER I HAVE TO to free up some shelf space.

Also when discussing JG1 characters that have gotten updates just because something technically got an update doesn’t mean it’s a proper one. That liokaiser set isn’t a proper liokaiser and deathsauraus being skylynx lol. Overlord while a solid toy overall could definitely be better as a commander etc.

Because of the overlap, we've now gotten the grand majority of Headmasters and Masterforce. The Trainbots are incoming via Masterpiece.

Victory is where most of the Japanese original molds reside. Hopefully, Star Saber's campaign gives that series the needed push to allow incorporation the way it happened in Titans Return. The original molds in Zone and Battlestars have mostly been addressed now, aside from Galaxy Shuttle, Garrygun and Grandus (all G names? LOL! hmmm...).

But that's the point I was making, we only have that much because of the overlap that made it easy or convenient to knock out a few. But the push for more JG1 is coming less from what Takara has done in their media lately and more from Hasbro and really IDW where guys like Star Saber and Deathsaurus have actually appeared in any significant way in the past decade or so. That's why I am sure there are actually going to be some newer fans even in Japan who are going to meet Saber now for the first time.

812 backers in 24 hours. And Hasbro is doing a terrible marketing job

I have the same feeling. I am very happy for the fans of the character. But for me, I'll pass. I'm not a fan of the Japanese Transformers characters and the colors always seemed too "Piet Mondrian-like" to me. ;-)
