The only difference in the packaging is that the character card it's not inside a bag.


The colors on the KO are slightly darker. The blue gloss it's almost unnoticeable.


The heads in his copy have this weird white plastic excess on the top of them.



His conclusion is that he's fine quality wise, there's no differences to the official one other paint. He mentions some joints might be tight and the tolerances are weird.

Oof those eyes in beast modes look dopey as fuck.
I hate it when they copy the packaging exactly and attempt to pass it off as an original.

 

Well the packages are not same and quite easy to see the difference.

Actually seem this KO company did copy one of the packaging.
It seems there are a few designs..

Most of them seems like the KO one.

 

The reissue had the life design logo.

This is the Darker Version of Primal... I consider this a repaint and now am eagerly waiting for reviews.

 

The inevitable repaint KO is coming too

 

I picked up a few copies of this release just for repainting. DK primal and nemesis primal are at the top of my list.

 

I rather they do the clear skeleton version or an awesome glow in the dark version  

 

Well, here is a comparison with ENGLISH subtitles.
Summary:
Not as well detailed as the original (softer arm barrel gun details)
Not as metallic in the chest paint as the original
Shoulder cannons base is missing the paint and is just light grey
BETTER hip ratchets
BETTER Shoulder pads closing all the way like version 2 of the original
BETTER QC control !!!
No serial number at inner base of foot like the original
OVERALL a really good KO per the reviewer.

I personally can't wait for recolors with even more minor improvments.

 

Weird that the gun barrel is a different mold. Otherwise looks like a good KO.

not as good as the 4th party Megatron, but can’t wait to get my shipping notice.

 

I got mine this morning. Had a quick look at it and I'm impressed. Haven't transformed it yet, but so far the joints all seem to be quite sturdy and the brushed look of the ape parts looks great. So far, very happy with it, and it was less about half the price of the real thing.

 

annnnnnnd the official one is re-issued.

Transformers Masterpiece MP-32 Optimus Primal (Reissue)

 

Well the KO is now cheaper (assuming he isn't going to be at a lower price at other retailers).

 

Everyone was saying the official cost as much when it was released as the KO is now going for now. So did Hasbro just arbitrarily DOUBLE the price? I know plastic isn't getting any cheaper, but for a figure that's already had its R and D as well as tooling paid for, it seems pretty shocking.

 

Hasbro didn’t, but Takara sure as hell did. If they released it at the original price they would make people realize they are overspending on current MP’s.

 

It seems hard to believe now that we once got a pretty big masterpiece, along with a big ass trailer, loaded with accessories, for just $150 once. At the time I passed, thinking it was an unimaginable amount of money to spend on a transformer. If only I knew...

 

I wonder why they would do this when the original is still available for $100 and their product is 80$
