Minerva intrigues me the most but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. What I really want is a straight up recreation of the Masterforce animation model. What we'll probably get is a lazy repaint with a new head, like TR Getaway.

 

Minerva is supposed to be a new mold, but debuts in the mainline as Elita-1 instead.

Ultra Magnus appeared in the comic with Blurr using his Siege design. Unless his comic is about him getting an upgrade, I doubt it will be the Laser mold. Blurr used his SS86 mold, despite there being an Armada Blurr from Pointblank coming in the Walmart line next year.

Cosmos, I shall get 6. Just when I thought my wallet was fairly safe next year on mainline leaks, this throws stuff all out of whack.

Well, I'm certainly not wealthy. I also didn't start collecting until about mid-POTP, so I missed out on the "good old days". I was getting out of comic book collecting & I saw a TR Cosmos on clearance at Walmart. I said oh that looks cool, I recognized him from the G1 cartoon I was watching with my kid (I had maybe seen 1 episode of it when I was a kid), so I grabbed 2 of them, 1 for me & 1 for my kid. & I was hooked, been collecting them since.

And you know what, the prices do suck. I don't like seeing them go up. But I enjoy the toys, so I will continue to buy them, as I have a small budget for them. I ask myself repeatedly, is this worth my money? If the answer is no after several weeks (or even months, thanks leakers), I will not buy it. I might not get a lot compared to some people, but I feel I truly enjoy what I do get.

No one forces you to buy the toys; you make that decision. & if prices continue to go up, it's up to you to determine what's important, & what to spend your money on. It's not ideal, but it's the world we live in. I can't see how anyone can be a completionist though; this is why it's so important to stick to a budget.

As far as the continued G1, I can only speak for myself: I enjoy it. It's what I tend to gravitate towards, & I feel very lucky to be collecting at a time where they are doing updates for a lot of characters I enjoy. Saying that, I know a lot of people dislike it, because their favorite cartoon/toys aren't getting the spotlight. I truly wish that everyone's favorites could be the focus; but that's not realistic. I don't know all the reasons for Hasbro's insistence on revisiting G1, but for me, someone who was trying to get into collecting, it's been pretty great. When they shift focus, I will be glad for the people getting into collecting, & the people who have been waiting for those characters to pop up. If I like what I see, I might continue to buy them. If not, I will quietly step back & let others enjoy their fun.

At least there’s 8 of her per box. Cosmos is one per box and probably the only original mold and ‘84-85 characters in the Walmart line.

 

Crosscut seems like a good fit.

 

Who knows maybe Reboost will make a generations debut.

If the skids mold is any good I may have to pick up every version as there all so good…

 

Crosscut is mostly silver though. If they were going to go with a Skids repaint they should use Reboost.
