I knew that a lot of the characters that came out I didn't recognize whatsoever and I assumed I just didn't know about a show or it's a unique character design like the ROTF figs

Seriously, help me understand. Isn't putting in a pre-order for an item that doesn't get made unless enough people pre-order pretty much the definition of crowdfunding?

And perhaps I was too oblique with my earlier question about existing tooling. Half of this Star Saber is already existing due to the Skylynx body reuse. So why are they charging buyers (or appearing to charge buyers) for two figures when it's really a light remold of one and then entirely newly tooled figure? Perhaps this explains the lower price point?

Ya know, I wasn’t impressed with the stand previously - it was a nice addition but underwhelming. However seeing the colored rendering, it looks really nice! That actually won me over. It looks really sharp and I’m really glad its included. (I had already preordered during the first 100 backers, so obviously colored or clear wasn’t a dealbreaker either way).

 

I’m outraged Victory Leo is mistransformed in back pack mode. I might just withdraw my $180

No. This isn't a crowdfund. If "they need money to make stuff" defines crowdfund, then the entirety of retail is a crowdfund. This is mostly "is this project worth pursuing?" It's all or nothing, and you can't chip in only 5 or 10 bucks, not like Kickstarter where it's any value goes and the project can get half funded but die.

Victory Leo is brand new. There's 0 shared parts and DEFINITELY no engineering shared from Lynx. The ONLY similarity is that they're cats of some kind that box up and dock to some form of spacecraft, but they don't even dock the same way.

 

Noooooooooo..... No.5, means there is a hidden base mode!!! That and we had the power to make Victory Saber this whole time. What fools we have been! Just hammer Silver Bolt into the bottom part of Sky Lynx and squint at it while keeping it only in your peripheral vision.

Everyday someone else comes in here thinking they're the first to think this as if we haven't done this song and dance every day since HasLab first started.

It's not crowd-funding in the traditional sense because you either buy the item or you don't. If there aren't enough buyers for the project to be profitable, it doesn't get made.

If this thing somehow hits 30k I would love a backer goal to be revealed in digital copies of the entire Victory series subtitled

Same, I had Powermaster Optimus Prime as a kid but I just assumed it was a random toy being made just like the bazillion different TMNT toys that came out but was never in the toon. I discovered WFC when I was randomly searching Amazon for G1 reissues and then found out about JG1 when I joined this board.
