Thxs Bee. I use this when i need flexing in my print. You can go higher then 10% if you need to. I did some custom battle beasts I used a 20% mix. Worked real well. If anyone has any questions about it feel free to message me.
I’ve used the Siraya Tech Blu (now discontinued, I think), which gives the plastic some flexibility while maintaining great detail. But, like Tenacious, it really needs the printer to be warmed up to at least 77f. I have had better luck at 85f+. Otherwise the print will fail. My printer doesn’t have a plate warmer, so I had to mod my printer to manage the internal temps. I also pre-warm the resin.
I have never had this issue. As long as it isn't freezing you should be fine. If you are having to warm up everything like you said, maybe you have a bad batch of resin.
This project is great. I would have been happy with just some simple static figures. The fact that these are articulated really blows me away.
This is a well known issue in the 3D printing community with certain resins. I’ve never used tenacious, maybe it isn’t as stringent as blu. But even tenacious’ instructions page states that the resin needs to be 25c (77f) to print.
Unless you live in an area that is always cold this should almost never be an issue. I am not sure what you mean by "modding" your machine, but that to me is a red flag. I have 4 different resin printers and I have never had the need to mod one in the way you described. That said I think we derailed this topic enough. My apologies to the op. Your work is very nice.
It must be pretty warm where you live. I would certainly have problems with that kind of resin. Also, it turns out adding a heater isn't that difficult. You can make a riser to lift the printer lid and have the heater and thermostat built into that riser. There's instructions on Elegoo's site for their printers and you can probably find similar instructions for most other models.
Is there any possible way I could get all of these in Siege/WFC scale? These are amazing! Should just be a matter of scaling up. Might need to adjust tolerances on the joints. Btw, can I ask you what tolerances you are using on various joint types and sizes? I'm doing some accessory work, and additional knowledge would be awesome!
Parts that tab or peg together, but also need to come apart, I do .2mm gap between surfaces. For joints it's either 0 or .1, depending on trial and error for the project. I have some new stuff I'll be testing the people figures in. If it works I will probably scale them for Chug and MP collectors to have.
Sorry to triple post, but what else might come out of this line when it's released? Are there any other human characters you'd want to make?
Named characters central to episode plot-points, as well as "army builders" like construction workers, soldiers, scientists. It'll be fun when I get there.
