I've been thinking the same thing, I do hope we're at least half right.

We just need to be patient. Nothing else we can do.

    Hypothetically....

Let's just say that they're having trouble with the arm bots being too heavy for the ratchets...

Do you think a system could work where you would pull a spring pin out, move the arm and then release the pin, which would snap back - holding the arm in place.
I don't know what this pin would be called or the terminology to describe its function, but I know I have seen this type of mechanism somewhere before.

At least we’ll burn some calories while we wait. Get my look-good on for Superion.

Fixed. Was thinking about one thing and wrote another. Too much FT on the brain.

Urggghh, honestly I really don't care about that kind of gimmick. The stupid "base modes" and cobbled together stuff like that are generally either awful (look, its a chunk of robot parts lying on the ground. If I squint, cock my head to the side and look at it from this weird angle from behind while standing on a chair, it kind of looks like.... a bunch of robot parts lying on the ground that I can pretend is a base).
And if they aren't totally useless there's a high chance they'll end up compromising something in the final figure.
FT's were never meant to be "all-in-ones", or "scramble-city" or "no-parts-forming".
Their target is the best possible alt, bot and combined modes and a price to match...LOL
If that means there's a bunch of kibble shoved in a drawer occasionally then so be it. Parts-forming has been around since the bedinning and it's a big part of combiners.
I'd hate if they were delaying this to try and work out how to make the extra combiner parts look vaguely like a jet fuel tanker or something silly.
Just finish the set, make it look amazing and make it solid, please?

It is surprising FT are taking this long when they could just copy the Zeta route. They didn’t seem to struggle with any of this and produced what is currently the best MP scale Superion. If FT just dropped the torso piece on us without any transformation gimmick nobody would mind as long as the final bot looks as good as the CAD renders!

We can see from Smokey that FT are taking a more considered route though. All the other Menasors had armbots split in half, whereas FT have said “no. We’re better than that. We’ll engineer the solution”. Maybe this will be the downfall of their combiners?

Which is what every company and engineer should aim at.

That's the whole point of transforming toys, if you want "perfect" representations of the characters, just get statues or R.E.D style figures. You drop the transformation gimmick for the cartoon accuracy gimmick.

I feel like that's something that some flight stands do and honestly I'd be cool with that. A free rotating arm that you insert a pin into to hold the pose? I'd be down. But it's probably something they want to avoid since you know there'll be someone out there who forgets or thinks it's a regular joint and snaps stuff off trying to pose the conventional way

The splitting in half wasn't a bad solution either though was it? But I see where your coming from, look at magic square they got their armbots to do both split and built in elbow and over all their menasor has three arm configurations.
