I was wondering who else was checking out the transformers while working. Im the front desk mgr for a Hotel so not a lot goes on.
I do at the schools I teach at. At first, was mainly because it was one of the few pop-culture sites I liked that wasn't blocked by the education filters and remember my log-in info for easily, but as filters became less of an issue, it just became an ideal social site for work. It's mainly visually text, the strict rules over content keeps it from being something I'd be embarrassed to have in my online history if anyone looked (probably the most risque things are the Conan the Barbarian covers I'll post, and most of those are old Marvel Comics), and I've gotten used to the people here to the point I have it on at home a lot too. Being an old-school forum also means it's unlikely I'd be too distracted if something at work I wasn't expecting pops up. Only bummer is posts made by others that use Instagram or other social media links are blocked to me when I'm at work, but that's nothing to complain about.
I check when I can...all depends on where I am and what I'm doing. I spend half my time on the road and half of my time working from home, so my daytime tfw habits tend to be highly variable.
I work a weird second/third shift hybrid, so I get up around 12 and go sleep around 4. I also have a lot of spare time at work, so I find myself constantly refreshing pages on my phone while I stand idly waiting for something to happen. Needless to say, I try to keep my PMs going. Luckily, I’m friends with a dude who seemingly never sleeps, so we talk a lot. EDIT: I also used to work a security position and that was almost as boring as my current job. I browsed the site so much that when mod applications were open, I almost thought about applying just because I am on practically any time I’m not sleeping. TFW is also the only social media site besides Reddit I use.
I use to put 30 minute blockout in my work calendar just to get some TFW time. But it's been so busy these days I don't have the free time that I use to have.
If I didnt have TW2005 my nights would be soooooooooo long. I get in at 11pm file some stuff surf untill 3 run night audit takes me about 45 min of ACTUAL work lol. surf until they serve breakfast. I dont know why they pay me lol...
Depends on the session, but I teach online a lot. Used to be all online, but that job went out of business. Now I teach part time at multiple colleges. This session is all online at two of the colleges, so I'm mostly working from home this semester. Lots of little mini 10 minute breaks to surf the web from classes when lazy students start to get to me. That or just getting away from a screen for 5 minutes so my eyes don't go bad.
All. The. Time. I have an office job that's more or less reactionary, so I have a decent bit of free time. When I'm busy, I am super busy, though.
I used to at my old job. It was a swing shift job and I would end up with some downtime pretty frequently.
Guilty as charged. I work at UPS even so my job is production rather than service. Still there's times where you can sneak in some views on the mobile. Especially in the area I work in. My work area is a cycle of moments of slowness then sudden hits of volume then slow again.
Soooo I finished the audit in record time now I'm bored as all hell. Having already read every new post on here. I may have to resort to googling the new resident evil movie. There should be trailers coming soon. Also whos going to see The Transformers the Movie in theaters this weekend I have to go to either Ann Arbor or Toledo as neither of my more local theaters is showing it.
I work in a machine shop where I'll either be running a cell where the robot does all the work or I have damn near a 30 min cycle time. Of COURSE I'm surfing the net...
I work from home, so yeah. My wife always catches me on this site and says, "AGAIN?!?" When I was in the office, this was pretty much the only site I would regularly frequent.
I basically haven't had to go into the office for over a year so I can surf tfw all I like at home while still getting work done remotely. I love it.
When I worked, I never surfed the net. I was 100% focused on my work. Not even during breaks. Had to be because I was a cook. After losing my job, I visit here everyday.
A Cook's occupation is tireless, relentless & extremely hazardous. Killing bad dudes with guns, knives & close combat. All whilst on a ship or train. Lets not forget the birthday cake being the icing on the cake...
