Reality check:


Not every tracked, armed vehicle is a "tank.". Not every cannon equipped armored vehicle has a rotating turret. Slammer is perfectly fine.

 

both slammer's g1 toy and kingdom toy appear to feature a turret separate from the hull, rather than a continuous casemate such as those seen on the vehicles you're referring to. Slammer has always been intended to look like a traditional tank/turreted AFV, not a turretless SPG.


whilst the turret has no clearance to rotate, its still a separate part from the hull. its intended to be a turret.

 

This little guy looks great! Can't wait to get him and complete my Titan Metroplex.

Maybe Slammer and Pipes will get released alongside Shadow Panther and Waspinator after all. (fingers crossed)

 

That head makes me just think of Slammer as a beefed up IDW Tailgate.

I think I'll stick him next to Cyclonus.

I thought he looked like an Autotrooper but now that you mention it I can't unsee it.

 

So looks like in places a retool of airwave or ironworks. Wondrr if there's a secret building mode?

 

Even though the Legacy Titan Class Metroplex has not yet been revealed, I propose that TFW2005 start a petition to get the 2013 Thrilling 30 Metroplex Titan re-released, so collectors who missed out on the figure will have a second chance, just like Combiner Wars Devastator!

Also, petition to Hasbro to have Metroplex sell for the same price he went for in 2013, $130.00 U.S.

So to be clear I don’t think this will ever work but I support you for trying it nonetheless. But you should be realistic. If if if this actually happened Hasbro isn’t going to release it for 130. Never gonna happen. Cost of materials and so on aren’t the same as they were in 2013. It would never never never be rereleased for $130. No shot. Definitely would be nice to get a rerelease of metroplex for everyone who doesn’t have one but at this point personally I’d rather have them do a whole new metro as that mold is aged compared to omega and scorponok for example. No ankle tilt etc. Time for a whole new one

 

Aw, shoot. The render on the back of the box has Slammer's thighs be white when the side art and the toy itself gives him black thighs. But then the white thighs actually look good on him? Wonder if someone will want to customize their Slammer's thighs to match the render...

Oh shoot, all those scenarios sound really great for him. The sky's the limit for someone who began life as a non-transforming drone!

 

Seems unfair that Metroplex gets two Weaponizers while the other city bots only get one each. Still I guess Slammer's addition to the line evens out the number of "good" Weaponizers/Fossilizers and "evil" ones to two for each side.

Does this mean that updated versions of the other city bots might also be in the works as well?

 

to be fair all of Metroplex's original helpers came apart in pieces too. so why not take advantage of the gimmick?  

 

Plus, those other guys got a headmaster each.

 

And Trypticon already has an upgraded Brunt to pair with Full-Tilt and his new headmaster.

 

If anyone is interested, a Chinese scalper is selling Kingdom Pipes and Slammer with an arrival date of Dec. 9-Dec. 31.
This scalper wants $50.98 for Pipes and $72.83 for Slammer and depending on where you live, adding the shipping fees and sales tax, these two figures will roughly cost around $134.00 together.

I think this is a good sign that maybe Slammer and Pipes will arrive before Christmas. Optimistic I know, but much better then being pessimistic. lol
I will not pay a scalper those prices, I will wait for these to arrive at Amazon's own stock.

EDIT: I just checked, Slammer and Pipes now have product detail pages on Target's website, another glimmer of hope that these guys will arrive at U.S. retail soon.

In the UK Slammer has a listing on the entertainer toy shop website with coming soon so not long to wait.

Feeding scalpers is a stupid practice just to get something slightly quicker.

 

Don't pay scalpers for product that's on preorder from official channels right now.

 

This looks cool. Glad I got the 2013 metroplex back in the day. Tempted now to transform him into city mode and add slammer to him when he's out.

Would look cool.

Edit. Nice to see pipes on the box but I am a believer that pipes should not have hands. The original g1 didn't. I suppose slots on the pipes for weapons could've worked. Anyway both figs are must haves.

 

Scalpers are the worst. C'mon Peaugh, Thew or Emgo, where are your video reviews for Slammer? I need to see the chainsaw!
