Agreed…I really can’t express my disappointment (got that wave just for Warlock and Red Hulk) when I opened up the figure…it was so lackluster…another downside was that the figure “seemed undersized”…if I recall. I bought that wave on an overseas work trip as it wasn’t available at retail in my country.
Just two more days and the final parts for Wendigo and Sauron will be here, along with cyborg spiderman! I hoping to snap some pictures . I also picked up Moira Mctaggert from my LCS (I had magic cards that I didn't want, so we traded). I'm honestly impressed with the level of effort that they put in! Eventually I'll build Tri-sentinel, but he's pretty far down the BAF priority list. I'm still looking for a few more Xenmu BAF bits: Left and right arm Left and right leg If you have any of these parts, shoot me a pm and we will work something out!
Man I really want a updated classic Wendigo headsculpt. Byrne’s Wendigo! It’s a shame they can’t pack that in with a random new release.
We need the entire cast of "Spiderman and the X-men". Professor Spiderman, Ernst, Shark girl, glob, no-girl, hellion, rockslide, eyeboy, ALL of them.
Definitely in for Dr. Strange if I can get it. Mainly for the accessories that I can use with the Mezco Strange.
So, sadly, I had to cancel my Galactus order. I realized I just have no place for it in my collection. I don't have a strong connection to the character and I mostly bought it because of FOMO. On the flip side, I did get the 2018 Walgreens Silver Surfer on ebay for about $60 last night. He was another reason I wanted Galactus
We had a “normal-looking” one years back in the Fin Fang Foom wave but it’s undersized… I would buy it…as I skipped that wave…I didn’t like the head sculpt.
Random thought time, now that I've had the Sentinel for a few days, and a few Galactus thoughts thrown in... Mine has the loose right knee joint; haven't done the screw-tightening fix yet but will. It can still stand decently, on carpet or flat surfaces. I'd love it if the ML livestream crew would explain why ratchets weren't used though, as best they can. What's funny about getting a Sentinel via HasLab is...IF they wanted to, there's still a place for Hasbro to do a "classic"/OG Sentinel that's much plainer, and more accurate to the earlier comics and the cartoon. This is very much a modern Sentinel. While I'd be surprised if Hasbro went back to this well so soon, could it really be off the table entirely years down the road? "Give people that missed out on the original crowdfund a chance" + "Opportunity to lean into nostalgia further" + "We want more money" + "We don't want to just retool the Masterworks Sentinel" = Voila, HasLab Sentinel 2.0, classic version. I'd probably buy it. I think what we got is for the best, but the Master Mold head feels like an afterthought in-hand for me rather than a legit option of capturing that character. I'm hoping we get a Bastion solo release of his original, more human look from Operation: Zero Tolerance as a retail/solo release. That's how I remember the character (I started tapping out of comics a little while after the end of the Onslaught saga and right around the time Zero Tolerance got going), plus it'd let me put the extra Prime Sentinel head on the Bastion body as an extra Sentinel. It bugs me the two fingers on the battle damaged hand don't fully move. The thumb on mine can swivel only so much before it feels like I'm going to start warping something. I appreciate the Tri-Sentinel head being thrown in, but I think I'd trade it in for a different battle-damaged head. It'd give people that bought multiples another option, and make for another diorama display piece as well. The knee issues are a strange oversight, but I'm still pretty satisfied with this HasLab endeavor. It's the first I supported and I don't feel ripped off. I remain excited for Galactus next year, and I would hope/expect the knee thing here is an opportunity for Hasbro to learn something (but would be actually frustrating if it or another obvious oversight were repeated). Speaking of Galactus: I figure this was the ML team doing their best salespersonship work, but was that yarn about this being likely our only chance to get Morg, plumbing the depths of 90s obscurity, blah blah, complete bullshit? We've just gotten or are getting Frog-Man, White Rabbit, Shiklah, Stilt-Man, Armadillo, Skullbuster, Serpent Society members, and other randos over the years. Hasbro's been embracing a bit of 90s era nostalgia. Morg is the last of the heralds that are really known. If Hasbro wanted to take the Galactus HasLab as an opportunity to do something that might not get greenlit elsewhere, wouldn't The Fallen One, Red Shift, or Stardust (or even Golden Oldie) have made more sense under that logic? Redoing Surfer this way still feels weird. Like if the Sentinel had included a new Wolverine. He should've been a well-timed Deluxe release with the stand, and that slot used for another character, or effects or something else (knee ratchets? lol). Frankie and Morg's inclusion in this, plus a new Surfer, make me hesitant that Hasbro has much faith in space-based comic stuff at retail. It seems weird to say, given all the odd, obscure shit we have gotten elsewhere, but cosmic characters are the only areas Hasbro hasn't been doing much of. The only "space" waves are movie tie-ins (GotG, Captain Marvel) with a few comic characters thrown in, though maybe more FF stuff will change that a smidge. I'm not concerned, but this does give me a bit of pause (that easily could, I hope, be blown away by the sudden announcement of space waves for '22 and '23 that make this moot). Maybe another Rider Series Wolverine, the jacketed version a la the cartoon, with a classic Wendigo head thrown in? I don't know if I'd enjoy that much, but that's an option I could see happening. Considering there have been multiple Wendigos, a straight up re-release with the classic head is an option too, albeit a potentially frustrating one.
I have the other one, but this one's really tempting for the knives and alternate head alone. I may grab one to kitbash into a Richard E. Grant Loki.
I think it's pretty obvious that Hasbro doesn't have much faith in cosmic Marvel beyond GotG at retail (not sure how the Titus wave did). I mean Silver Surfer has only been a Walgreens exclusive, as are both Quasar and Nova, and those are pretty big as far as cosmic characters go...
I almost followed you, but then noticed the shipping date is May 2022. I'm fairly new to ML pre-orders, but it feels like some of these are really far out. Is this common or is it potentially due to all the shipping issues we've been hearing about?
Yeah, the new head really makes it for me. For a character as important as Loki I don't mind rebuying a slightly better version and then selling the old one. However the new Falcon is barely different than last year's Falcon and I am perfectly happy with that one. Yeah, it seems like they will only do X-Men, Spiderman, Avengers and Fantastic Four themed waves at retail. Anything else will either get shoved into one of those or released as an exclusive. It will be interesting to see what they do with Firelord and Terrax that are probably coming next year to coincide with Galactus.
I just pray by the time that comes they are out of whatever contract they have with Walgreens because otherwise...
I thought it would be fun to get all my BaFs together for a picture. I can't believe I'm up to 20! But I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the posters here who helped make this possible: @Megatron118 for the Demogoblin leg @Bryan Thornton for Mr. Fixit's head @Dark Jedi for the Theta Sentinel Leg @Aberration for the Crimson Dynamo left arm and the torso, legs and right arm of the Kree Sentry Thank you again to all of you for the BaF pieces!
Just found a pretty cool visual list for anyone that needs it. Starting to back track some of the X-Men ones that I skipped out on. Complete List of Marvel Legends Infinite Series Action Figures
What's the difference in that new Loki compared to the preivous released one besides the second head? I ask because I sitll haven't even opened the other one.
