Hmmm that would be a weird omission if so given that their 4” figures have knees. I was thinking the knees might just be hidden by the sculpt of the shoes.
Ultimate Sonic figure from Tomy costs 25€ and it has more articulations and the standbase is pretty good (green hill scenario). This new Jakks Sonic is a total pass.
Wow I don’t recall ever seeing that one, thanks for the heads up! It was $30 here and released over 2 years ago. I don’t remember seeing it at GameStop stores(they had it up for preorder back then from what I saw today).
Yeah, it was a figure without marketing like a Ninja, I discovered him thanks to BBTS in a flash sale. It's a great figure, better than the Nendoroid. It's not a high end quality figure, but it's very very good. Tons of accessories and pretty good articulation, I'll take more pictures of him to show you how nice it is.
Damn! Seems like they went with a cartoon look but I wouldn’t mind one closer to the games. Also at least the ones you mentioned in addition to Super Sonic and Robotnik.
A whole new batch of Sonic figures hit my country! Managed to snag a couple of motobugs that appeared in Sonic 2 and a newer version of Sonic - he looks like he appeared in the original games with gritted teeth. My dream is that the Eggman robot from Sonic 2 i.e. the final boss will one day be made as a toy...
WOW! Thanks Shin! Finally! I honestly can’t believe it took so long for a company to finally release this figure! It looks amazing! I’m just worried that it may not hit my country - wave 2 was not released. I hope we get a classic Eggman and the original Metal Sonic too. These 3 will be probably my last figures for the line. I recall the countless times I “died” fighting Metal Sonic and then this boss! IMO Sonic 2 was the most memorable game on the Sega Genesis for me.
I agree, they did, looks fun No prob, that was the 1st Sonic game I owned but I haven’t played in years so didn’t know if it was the same Eggbot. It looks tempting.
I did end up seeing the collectors edition Sonic figure by Jakks in person and while its height may be 6”, it’s a rather big figure overall with some weight to it. I think $40 is a stretch to justify, $30 would’ve definitely felt more fitting. I do find it odd that it only seems to lack knee joints but has ankle joints. Meanwhile the much smaller overall 4” figure(the difference in height for these 2 doesn’t make as much difference as overall mass, the 6” figure is a lot bigger) with this same styling has knee joints and possibly ankles too.
Wow! They're out? If its $40...I'll pass its overpriced...what I'm worried is that the toys aren't popular in my country. There's an offer like if one buys 2 or 3 figures, they'll give 1 free figure? I'm really worried the Robot Eggman from Sonic II won't hit our shores if that's the case...
Stateside I’ve only seen it at GameStop but it’s available for order from online stores here too. It does look good but $40 does seem too high.
New wave of figures has been hitting Target, has Robotnik and a new, gray Metal Sonic. Also saw the Robotnik Eggman Battle set($40?) and that robot is huge. Seems worth the price. Also a 3 pack of figures for $27.99 with: Sonic Metal Sonic(the new gray one) Robotnik
I will be honest, after reading this thread I headed right out to Target last night and bought the Eggman Mech and the 3 pack (Sonic, Robotnik, Mecha Sonic). I just had to get it. Classic Sonic is my shit. Was a diehard fan as a kid. Thanks for sharing this guys. My inner Sega patriot child self is feeling pretty happy with this purchase!
Wow! they're out in the States! I'll wait until Sept if not I have to buy these online! Same! I have been waiting for an Eggman Mech, and metal Sonic for years! I really dig the classic Sonic series and I really love the series. IMO Sonic 2 is how a sequel should be done and really lived up to expectations.
4 inch…it’s the bigger figures right? I have not come across Silver in the bigger size but I think I saw him in the smaller line…in my country.
