Hey sorry guys. been a crazy week. It must be MA01 as it matches the first color scheme from Studio Cell. I don't have the box anymore though.

Received mine today. Was part of the first batch of 11. Thanks again for making these. Here are some pics of the full set in its packaging, under natural light, sunlight and ambient light. Also some comparison pics with the actual spikes from haslab unicron.

colour is a good approx. match. On my copy some of the black shows through the paint but it doesn't bother me. The spikes and backplate are amazing! The amount of detail is impressive. I'm not exactly sure how the spikes are supposed to stay on the backplate. I suppose glue them on?

Also important to note. I had originally only wanted the backplate and spikes as my plan was to print the internal structure myself (send to a 3D printing house). But after seeing pictures of these ones, they just look night and day better than what I could expect from a printing service. The internal structure is solid! Glad I purchased the entire set!

To answer your question about how to attach the spike, you'll need to super glue them into place. I had to do that for packaging without damage.

 

if somebody scaled up 01 studio cell/pumpkin to the size of haslab unicron, that would be the absolute best unicron figure ever made. It would have size, cartoon accuracy, and a smooth transformation. I like this upgrade kit, seeing as it separates the two modes, but that's also kind of sad when you think about it. if there's enough kibble in bot mode to make the entire alt mode, that means that the largest transformer ever made is nothing more than a shellformer, the WORST kind of transformer, and all you've done is removed the shell. That does make the figure look better, but it's also removed the name of a transformer and now you have two models, neither of which can convert to the other mode

I have an massively awesome planet-mode display of Unicron and a really large figure of his bot-mode that’s much cleaner without the planet mode kibble on his back and legs.

Well, nothing is being done to the figure that is irreversible. You can still reattach the parts and transform it as much as you want.

You sound like one of the many people that did not invest in this figure so although your point is valid it really doesn't belong in this thread. Most people bought this for one. the size and two its official. Being able to seperate them to have two very nice display pieces is a great selling point for this figure. I have Studio Cell and it's a great figure but lets be honest here, that thing brings me literal pain to transform it and realistically how often will one transform that figure anyway. Most will find the form they like and display it that way forever.

This is also a great point. If this process was not reversible I would not have taken the time to design it.

There will definitely be another preorder once I get through the current orders.

 

I just want to say to those who are working on this project. Thank you. I don't have the skills to do what you all are doing and it is greatly appreciated. There is so much I want to do with mine (there is the one fellow who created lights/sounds for the maw) and my wife is giving me the stink eye when I keep bringing up what I want add to my unicron but hey you only live once right   As long as I can afford it (just need the CDN dollar to move up a bit more so it's closer to the US dollar) I will get it done.

 

Hey guys. just thought I would post this review of the kit if anyone would like to check it out. Also an update. I have redesigned the backplate again to allow for using the detailed backplate without the spike to give more room in your display. I have a new instruction video up as well that I'll post separately. I'm currently out of stock on preordered for those that need this printed but I'll have a new listing back up around mid January.

You guys should really consider having 5 to 10 ready to ship kits on hand. If people can just buy a kit, rather than track down soneone to print it all out for them, it would be far more customer friendly. Heck, I'd buy one if I didn't have to track someone down to print it.

A wall mounted stand wouldn't hurt either. Heck, an adapter for use with a standard flat screen wall mount would get the job done.

 

Make haslab exclusives get reruns and normal releases in other countries.
