This is fine in all, but was there one more tier after the stand?

20 days is still a long ways. Now if the next issue of Figure King doesn't show off this guy, that's when we can freak out.
Yeah, but we haven't seen that one yet.

What's "pretense?" The project is all about building up enough support not only to get made, but to get to some additional tiers to support additional items. Opening up to a broader market would only help the project. And why shouldn't the Japanese market have a shot? Star Saber is part of their history with the franchise moreso than anyone outside it.

Yeah but the thing is that's a horrible way for a fandom to act. It's not the Japanese fanbase's fault that we didn't have as easy access to some of those figures as they did.

Maybe that's what they're waiting for? We've got the V-Lock and the stand alongside prototypes. Maybe they're going to debut the color pics in Figure King so that the first pop for those can come at the same time as the TTMail listings go live.

If Takara isn't offering it in Japan, it'd be interesting to know why ...since they're almost certainly helping in the design.

    Based on this image:

I'm not sure there would have been enough room to do a sliding-up gimmick and keep the waist rotation. You would need at least the full length of the face extra room at the bottom of the chest for it to fully insert then slide up, and that would cut into the waist.

I will accept that was not the nicest way to put that All things considered based on what we know Hasbro and Takara share this IP. So with that in mind the only one blocking this from the Japanese market is Takara. I would love to know why but I don't and I can only speculate as to what might be going on in the heads of their upper echelon. And the company has made some pretty foolish decisions and I'm really hoping that this doesn't get added to that list.

Maybe if they had made him more of a headmaster, that way they could have put the shorter cube into an elevator bucket to raise up into the head? But just looking at the photo, that would likely have required the helmet to be much larger and wider to accommodate the headmaster body. You would've then run the risk of Saber's head looking something more like TR Overlord.

Okay but then you're just burning budget on a flashy Headmaster for no reason and still haven't recreated the original gimmick.

I suppose we have to settle with what we have right? I doubt it's gonna change now. Hasbro could easily have gone without the brain of courage

I’m still not sure this thing is going to be the size I want it to be especially at the 200 dollar price point.

Just keep that grey prototype out there until funding secured and no blowback vis a vis the blue maw debacle

I'm certainly glad they made the attempt they made, and even as I'm disappointed that it's not closer to the original, I'm already on record as saying it's better (IMHO) than the MP attempt, and I'm supporting the campaign for the toy we're getting, not the toy I might wish I was getting.

Since this is likely to be my last comment on the subject, I'm going to just drop this here:

I guess....I was just trying to think of a work around that could tried to have both. Personally I don't care about the elevator gimmick at all. 98% of the time I wouldn't be using it.

My only real issue with the Brain of Courage is that size wize, I'm hoping it doesn't set a precedent for the other three Brainmasters. In order for Road Ceaser to be the right size compared to Star Saber, Blacker, Braver, and Laster will likely need to be a bit bigger than Saber is. I don't want them to be undersized so their faces are interchangeable with Saber's.

Honestly I love the way that they did the brain master. This keeps the original gimmick (obviously it’s different, but it’s still the base gimmick of small robot becomes face) and you get all the articulation for Saber.

I see this version of the Brainmaster gimmick as Hasbro trying to “future proof” all the other Brainmasters, if they happen. This simpler version can easily be replicated into the other 3 at an affordable price point. This way all the brainmasters have the same exact gimmick.

Speak for yourself brother. I plan on yelling “brain set!” A lot. Nice job on the graphs, btw.

I want this to fund I REALLY do. However, I\'m not one for pre-mature celebration either. 8235 backers currenty. They need 8250 to truly be at 75%, sure thats only 15 orders, but still, it matters. I\'m more curious about when they are going to open this up to Japanese fans? Only 20 days left top back this project, and still unaccessible to the fan group that probably wants it the most...they are cutting it a little close aren\'t they?

Honestly, since we're not talking about the 100% mark, I'm not sure that it DOES matter....

But, like you, I'm extremely curious about what's going on re: Japanese fan opportunity. I think most of us are. It's more than a little surprising we don't know already.
