I can't speak for this design, but the chest intakes on Springer's toys usually can't be that deep because the space behind the chest plate is needed to store things, like the robot head, or the car wheels, or whatever. You cut the intake super deep, and then you'd be complaining about visible hollow spaces instead, or a visible robot head in the vehicle modes, or something.

Apache has the best chest grill and that's what make this figure so special to me. When I look at Springer, the first thing I do is look at his goddamn chest grill ...   Do FTs have a patent on this chest grill design or why XTB and MMC didn't make it the same way?

 

Looking at comparison images between Saltus and Apache, and then the G1 animation model, it looks like FT got enough clearance to sculpt the grille deeper by making the hood/chest too long. The green part of his chest is ~30% wider/taller than it's supposed to be, if you're going to be animation accurate.

 

His "eyebrows" are sitting very high. Maybe the face is not pushed into the helmet all the way. The chest looks flat. I do like the arms and legs.

Tbh I don't see this as a huge upgrade over the existing Springers. Pass.

 

looking great! always been a shame about the grill but the rest is a win and best looking springer out of all of them so far

 

The dark green looks great to me, like a perfect blend between the movie colors and the Akom colors (the company that animated the majority of the season 3 episodes). Overall, except for the chest being too shallow, this is by far the best looking Springer figure I've seen so far. Especially the yellow things on his shoulders are great (they should not be all yellow but rather yellow at the front and green everywhere else, but I can live with that) as every other company made them way too big. Proportions are on point, too. Glad I pre-ordered this... in 2015 or something  

 

Looking pretty amazing to me. This is the most accurate, clean and cohesive-looking Springer I see so far. XTB has always have amazing sculpt with regard to toon accuracy. I'm willing to overlook some minor nitpicks considering this is a triple-changer. Now if only the QC can actually hold up this time....

iBot promised the forearm cannons that flip out but I have to wonder if that made it in.

I said something similar the other day. It does look like it has them to me, the panel lining looks deeper around that section of the forearm.

Get some blast effects on and this bad boy really hits the no1 spot. EDIT - he comes with last effects! How did I miss that?

 

I can’t decide if my Springer should be this or MMC.

 

I love my FT but I plan on getting this guy. As long as the build quality if good, I think it might replace the ft

 

Or FT Apache or RH AirWolf. So many good Springers and so hard to choose.

 

That's easy, wait for the reviews and if the quality is up to par, get this one. That is, if absolute cartoon accuracy is your jam ; )

 

If the QC of the XTB version is stellar, then this one is definitely going to be my Springer. I don't own the FT version but it looks a little too "stylized" and outdated for my liking and the legs look a bit messy. My MMC Springer has issue with his knees which - sadly - gotten pretty loose over time and can't ballance well - lack of ratchet joints in the knees is a fatal flaw for the MMC version (with the way it's constructed & it is top heavy).

XTB hit pretty much all the marks. We can only hope that the QC will pull through.
