Since this is based on their MP Superion, I would guess it's similar to the MP combination.

The first set of pictures shows a rendering that's not just pants forming, but a fake top too. You might actually be able to Silvetbolts shoulders in the chest, but it's hard to tell. Otherwise, he mostly plugs into the back.

Cant say I'm the biggest fan of that. I just hope it doesn't look NA levels of onesie-pajama lazy.

Got my copy from TCP today (I shoulda gotten it last week, but for some reason USPS just decided not to deliver to my community since Thursday, claiming the postman lost the code to get in, which I'm skeptical, since the gate's been stuck open following a power outage since Thursday, so there was nothing stopping USPS from getting in, but whatever, at least I have it now):

    zetal ar sd bots.jpg

They're definitely scaled more towards the NA seekers rather than the MS ones:
    zetal ar natoyss jetback.jpg
    zetal ar natoyss jetfront.jpg
zetal ar sd na sgtc rw bs.jpg
They're also more in line with the MS Stunticons and NA Constructicons:

(in terms of bot mode height, not actual scale charts)

I hate that crap. They do that here in Nebraska all the time. There are established shipping routes that I know in my sleep, but once in a while something will inexplicably go from Omaha to Des Moines, before it comes to me.. USPS workers drinking on the job.

Either way, I got the shipping notifications for these guys from ShowZ while I was in Mexico last week!

I've had a package arrive in my local post office then get sent to Florida (half way across the US) and then come back.

Man what's going on with the delivery on these, my Aerialbots have been stuck in USPS new jersey for 5 days now! I could've walked from NYC and back faster!

I received them last week and the figures are OK, the only nitpicks I have are the hollow space in the arms, the fixed movement at the wrists and the ridiculous mini feet.

It's a pity both of them have factory flaws. One of them had one knee installed backwards, and the other one can't collapse the right arm and the head at the same time in jet mode.

Other than that they are great!

Looks soo nice. I'm gonna wait for the metallic box set with the toon chest since zeta has a history of doing such with their MP style combiners.

They made some changes from their MP versions. The Legends design already has the toon chest by default.

Have 4 hours of straight work to do before I can break them free, but these guys just showed up so popped my original g1s on there. These were some my fav autobots growing up so even with the shortcomings of hollow arms I'm stoked to have these.

The MP Superion did the same thing with Silverbolt. He was basically just a filler for the torso.

This Legends-sized version looks to be pretty much just a down-sized and slightly modified version of the MP Superion, so expect the thighs and torso to be a separate part from the rest of the figures. The upside of it is Zeta's MP Superion was very solid, so this should be pretty solid too.

You "got me" for a moment---I immediately noticed Skydive's tailplanes and thought "did they change the mold to have G1-accurate early-style tailplanes at the last moment!?!". Then I realized...

(yes, Skydive's tailplanes are very much a "thing" for me, because they are one of the most defining things about exactly what type of F-16 he was originally based on)

That's basically how the Zeta MP works. The torso is a big hollow cavity and Silverbolt folds up into a cube and clips in. The combiner shoulders aren't even part of Silverbolt, they're part of the hollow torso bit. You could probably make a cube out of LEGO or 3D print a block in the right shape and slot it in the back and get the same effect. I have a feeling something similar happens with several of the MP Menasors and Motormaster as well.
I can't imagine a parts-forming Legends scale Zeta Superion will be all that much different.
Honestly, I don't care about that. I'm happy with fake parts to get a combiner that looks good in all three modes and is correctly scaled in two modes (we'll ignore the obvious issues around the different planes being wildly out of scale which is inevitable). Especially in Legends scale. MMC's Bruticus looks terrible to my eye because they tried to do all in one (and he still came with extra feet!! in spite of it)

That's really too bad. I've sort of surrendered to the idea of pants forming. And I don't mind too much if there's a plate piece for the chest, or even some surrounding pieces like IF Bruticus. But if it's one big body case, they could at least incorporate the main character besides plugging it into the back. That is one of my serious pet peeves with combiners these days (and why I'll likely never own a Menasor in any class beyond just keeping FP's old set). It's like, there's no middle ground between full on fake-it vs. all-in-one? Even MS Devastator has elements of the two body characters showing (and necessary to combine) in theirs. It's too bad they're way too big in all modes for me.

I'll just have to see how it turns out. Maybe I'll (I'mNotVomiting) like it. Worst case, as I think I said somewhere before, I can sell my two at cost and just skip it.
