There was no new run AFAIK, but it's not hard to imagine Keith repurposing some of the unsold toon Dragstrips to the Toy deco.

This is the 1st time I purchased 2 of the same figure. Well, technically they're not the same. I bought Gravestone Youth Version 1st. I received the regular Gravestone this weekend. They're both fine figures but Im liking the regular release more. Now Im trying to decide which version of Menasor Im going to get and which set is staying in their respective robot modes. Also, it'd be fun to put Shattered Glass decals on the youth versions

Asking for a favor. Can anyone show comparisons of Breakdown vs Youth Breakdown in alt mode?
I've seen comparisons in bot mode already.
    Thanks in advance!

Some stuff I never posted here.

Except they are a different colour yellow.

Funny you should ask, I just got Youth Breakdown and Dragstrip from the TFSource sale, and just finished taking comparison pictures this afternoon.

In car mode, there isn't a ton of difference. I'm not sure how well it's showing up on my phone's camera, but the off-white color on Youth Breakdown is closer to the G1 toy than the peachier original, some of the paint apps look a bit sharper on the Youth, the front tires are a little bigger on the Youth, and the flaps with the exhausts are off-white instead of blue. That's about it.

I might be wrong on this, but can't you just paint over the regular yellow color?

Isn't that what people over at the Radicon threads are doing i.e. repainting figures they bought?

Thanks so much! I can tell especially in that first pic. I like the youth body color more, but I don't like the exhaust surround being body color. The exhaust being body color is just a horrible decision. I wonder how hard it would be to swap those pieces.
    Hm.

Both sets of tires are bigger- its to give him more ground clearance in car mode. The youth version rolls so much better than the G2 and toon versions.

I really want to give the Youth version of Dragstrip a chance. I am thinking of rolling the dice and asking for a replacement upper body ..........

Go for it. The worst that can happen is you lock up a few bucks with them to cover shipping and wait several months for it to finally ship and arrive (if there's another lockdown that halts the postal service in their area like happened last year).

That is true, but these figures are not being released fully painted, but mostly bare plastic. So yellow toon parts can't be repurposed for youth parts as the colour won't match.

Really? Huh. I only noticed the front ones because they're so obviously smaller in robot mode.

Is the white on the Youth version painted or is it just plastic? That’s the only one I’m tempted by since the toon version has that weird shine.

Youth one is fully painted, while the toon version is that old method XTB used to use of unpainted plastic with a clear lacquer on top.

I got a "Processing Soon" email from BBTS for Youth Gravestone. Nothing yet on Youth Flipout or Youth Trailer.

This is definitely the first incidence where there have been multiple shoulder breakages in a short amount of time with the youth set. Where did you get your set from, just curious?

...just received mine from TFSource, haven’t had a chance to open it yet but I’m almost afraid to. Has anyone heard back from TFS yet regarding their broken bot?

Just got my response from TFSource. They've sold out of their stock so they can't scavenge from available figures but they offered to get in contact with X-Transbots and get a replacement part for me. I'm good with that. They offered a full refund if I wanted to send the toy back but I'm in no rush so I'll just wait. Hopefully the replacement part doesn't have the same problem.

I just looked at my copy and it seems to me like there's no need for pin punching or anything like that? Does that seem right?
