Ya that's true, I had signed up for it as a new member and it worked for me so I'm just covering my bases here and just see what happens.

Would be easier, sadly the Pokemon Company wants to push promotions for everything. With Coco finally releasing to western audiences on Netflix, they want interest in it and that means going to the main site, to see the promotion of the film and then agree to the newsletter to recieve other merchandising promotions.

I did it! I completed the Pokédex, the Isle of armor Pokédex and crown tundra Pokédex in Pokémon Sword!

Not really much for me to do in gen 8 besides making a strong team for competitions. But that's for a later time. I'm taking a Pokébreak until Brilliant Diamond and Shiny Pearl are here.

I don't know about live Pokedex but I did finally 100% complete the National Pokedex on Pokemon HOME thanks to getting Zacian during the recent event on Pokemon Go.

Okay, that is a bit disappointing. I wasn’t expecting a complete National Dex but I would like to see some new Pokémon trickle in. But then again there isn’t many new evolutions for older Pokémon since Gen 4. All we got was Slyveon and the Galarian form evolutions.

Although the remakes do indeed show a pokedex change, especially with the inclusion of Hideawar encounters, this does not surprise me when we have already seen the gen 4 nat dex at 493.

I wasn't expecting gen 8 mons in Sinnoh, but hey, at least we got post gen 4 mons showing up in Legends Arceus with regional variants and evolutions.

    So there's that.

BDSP might also cover the remaing Pokemon not found in SwSh after the DLC within gens 1-4. If they do an update, who knows, just got to wait and see.

Either way, it is what it is, a remake in every sense of the word.

I genuinely am not surprised and was not believing they would do so. It doesn't sound like they were making this game to expand massively on the originals, just slight improvements at most. And including every new Pokemon that has released to date, when the newest main game could not, would have been too surprising coming from the people currently making Pokemon games.

I am fine with this though. As sad as it might be, the bar is currently set at just at least matching what the originals could offer. So far as I can tell they've matched that, with some bonus added stuff like clothing styles and the Hideaways. I do hope though that if certain Pokemon AREN'T available within the games like there were in the originals (like Kanto starters for example had to be traded from Gen 3 games), that they will be coded in and we can trade them in from Home.

Seriously if they can't do THAT then the games are in a bigger sad state of affairs than I thought.

I think if gen 4 remakes weren't split between BDSP and Legends Arceus we'd see a remake closer in form to what ORAS did in gen 6 for gen 3.

But because of the games they're making, they made a very faifthful remake that keeps the authenticity of gen 4 with qol updates and a more out-there and unique concept for what is considered a mainline remake. One to appeal to purists, one to appeal to fans that want a more open-world rpg.

It really seems to me that aside from easy connectivity to Home there's no real reason to play these remakes over Platinum. Now I just wish I hadn't sold mine...

I imagine the game is going to be faster to play. Platinum fixed the slow speeds of D&P but it was still clunky to traverse at moments.

So... your going "Back in my day!"

Seriously, the habitats, home connectivity, speed, and yes, I like the chibi look so I'll even assume graphics, audio is most likely better, and playable on TV.

    Sounds like several good reasons.
