I mentioned it a bit earlier, but it got ran over really quickly and didn't seem to garner any reaction, but I kinda think TakaraTomy isn't really banking on a long-term campaign. If you've seen the Japanese collectible market in action, desirable items go up and sell out day 1, no question.

I have this inkling now that it's going to come fairly late in this run, probably when we get a full colour reveal for a bigger, splashier look at the figure, and TT will open up their orders and it'll be a done deal right then and there.

With just a bit of tease/lead time, they're not going to have any problems with this. Especially since this is so much cheaper than any of those other big collectible lines that still sell the heck out in seconds.

 

No, because there aren't any as yet. For some reason (speculated on recently) Takara has not yet started taking orders.

Not sure whether, when they do start taking orders, those orders will be added prior to the end of the campaign or just as one lump at the end. Probably the latter.

I feel Unicron was also different, it was the first and it was way more expensive, so fewer people speculated on it. The qtys we're seeing on the later Haslabs have reflected the secondary market more and more, so it's possible the newer figures may not command the same type of secondary market price multiplier the previous ones have (of course still subject to how desirable the character is afterwards)

I did some math before ordering my 1 and figured that with ebay fees and taxes if I purchased 2 and sold 1 at $400 it would NOT make them "free". My total cost for buying both would be reduced to approximately $35

Well, the Weaponizers we’ve been getting throughout the WFC trilogy are already regarded as way better than Legends Godbomber, so I wouldn’t think it improbable that the lessons they learned from the WFC weaponizers could make me think a do-over for Godbomber using a similar upscaled system as said weaponizers shouldn’t be too far-fetched.

Come to think of it, doesn't Victory Leo count as being in the same camp as Godbomber?

I’m betting that Takara’s waiting to feature Victory Saber on that magazine they like being featured in. (I forget the name of the magazine.) Point is, Takara not doing anything with a new take of a main character that came from their side of the Transformers family like Star Saber would be like if DC didn't do something new with Batman.

My guess is once the color prototype is revealed that is when TTMall will put up a listing.

 

While I love the recent WFC updates on a lot of G1 characters, I really do hope seeing how successful Victory Saber is kicks down the hinges on Hasbro doing modern updates on a lot of the Japanese G1 exclusive characters.

 

A thousand seems pretty small, you'd think there'd be much more of a market for him in his home country
