Art design is king no matter what you are doing with the graphics, there are plenty of shitty looking 2D games and plenty of 3D games that have held up really well.

Ha I totally forget about RS 3. Pretty sure I had it though.

I'd love a new Rogue Squadron. A simple game where you fly around and blow stuff up. And yet as far as I can tell there's nothing like that out now, at least for Switch. I was hoping Starlink would fit the bill but it's too complicated for what I wanted, and gets bogged down in collecting similar to a lot of open world type games.

Didn't like the third one personally, the ground gameplay was crap and took up way too much of the game.

Maybe they'll do something new to tie into the post-ST movie that is coming out in a couple of years.

If you guys state that you won’t bring something up yet allude to it, you’re bringing it up anyways so just don’t bring it up, it’s that simple.

KOTOR doesn’t need a rewrite nor mechanics update aside from any possible glitches the original had. We don’t know for sure if a rewrite will be done so it might be best to wait for confirmation.

Been wanting to replay KOTOR lately so might just wait for this to drop on PC and play it on the Steam Deck when it releases

I wonder what the gameplay will be like. IIRC the original one had this strange turn based system with you selecting your next 3 moves in advance

Original KOTOR battle system was almost a graphical representation of DnD. More obviously so than most RPG's. You selected a couple actions to attempt, then the rolls determined their outcome.

    >thinking that the game will suck cause of the writer, and not EA.

I don't think that you should be mansplaining here.

EA's not involved with this, I don't think. It's being made by Aspyr and published by Lucasfilm Games.

Umm... can I pose a question that seems to have gotten missed as everyone was distracted by who the writer is: why does this remake even need a writer?
Shouldn't this simply be taking the existing story and re-doing it with a new engine and presumably with updated mechanics? Unless the story is going to change significantly from the original, what purpose does a 'name' writer serve?

Most likely to make it fit Disney's new fustercluck of a canon.

FF7:R required a lot of writers I presume. It's far more than a new "HD skin" over the exact same dialogue. It's quite possible KOTOR:R will have a similar level of alterations.

    ::hopes for Darth Carth:: :p

    I was okay with that
One would hope but who knows. I want to know if anyone from Bioware who worked on the original is working on this. Not all the developers from the original worked on KOTOR II and I think it suffered due to that.

Ok, Darth Carth made me LOL :D
Now I want it to happen…thanks a lot.
Also, the first thing I thought was, could Darth Carth be related to Ralph Malph from Happy Days? :lol
