So what's the best option for someone looking to pick up a couple dianaut style... okay, gotta admit, it feels weird calling them figures. They're practically miniatures. It's basically just the pilots I'm interested in at the moment thought.

Got my set in. Initial thoughts:

    Pros:
They are pretty hefty for their size.
    Love the movable rubber tracks
    Easy transformation
Nice magnet gimmick which enables easy swap for future expansion sets

    Cons:
Inconsistent paint work - generally great but sloppy around the edges
Very noticeable nub marks at several spots
    Cheap looking decals
Weird placement of tank head joint when in tank move—- the connector joint opens downwards and gravity will pull it down over time
    87BA5207-0BD5-4CFF-BE75-A68945024DDE.jpeg

overall a nice cheap army builder which adds variety to the Diaclone releases

Before i started making my own the site with the most consistent Dinaut availability was Aliexpress (I don't use Taobao). Ebay was fairly reliable for a long time but I'm not sure they are any longer. I'm sure someone will link you to an ebay seller if you prefer not to use Aliexpress.

With that said ....I assume overseas shipping is still delayed ?

RIHIO's pilots are the cheapest but they already are running out of stock on Taobao, not sure about the stock situation elsewhere but it can't be healthy either.

Microwars is dead but you can you still find the less popular pilot packs on the Japanese aftermarket.

    MFT's KOs are long gone.

You could always fork out extra official Takaratomy ones. POs for their Dianaut 2.0 just opened. It's pricey though.

While MFT KO's are long gone others are available. I recently acquired a power suit on ebay and i was surprised that it wasn't in an MFT box. In fact i'm going to have to take a look at the box again to see exactly what the latest branding is.

Maybe it's MFT product in a different box.

Edit: i just checked and the dark colored box says "Power Armor" in English along with some art surrounding the clear front window and Chinese characters every where else.

Who else received product in this type of box?

The colour of that DA-30 Gamma suit goes with the other rather nicely being darker than the medium grey/green KO's colour, Makes me wish they make a few more colours if the heat is off them again sometime.

Though to be honest I like some of the original designs too so I'd be perfectly happy to have them in other colours too. such as the kind with the welding torch arm or cannon arm (and pig like face) or the one that looks like a tichy Omega Supreme (only with the usual arms and legs) that would be nice stuff to include if they don't want to do 1-1 KOs but they seem perfectly fine selling (my avatar) and that is a straight KO only in another colour.

Alright gents i'm looking for some inspiration. If you have any ideas with regard to Dianaut enemies or allies share some. I may end up making something inspired by your idea and i'll post it here. I need some new toys :D

Rihio Monster Aliens make great things for any small scale figures to fight.

Excellent suggestion. I have the small non poseable beasts but I'm looking forward to the larger poseable beasts coming in October. I *need* those.

I actually meant human or bipedal alien designs. I'm looking for inspiration with regard to troops.

Are you in a country where the Dollar Tree/Poundland Final Faction figures are available, the alien bad guys could make decent, economical medium large kaiju?

I swear the interest of the members in this thread are consistent. I was jut trying to figure out how I could acquire some of the Synthoids (?) hours before posting what I did lol.

I'm not sure if they are available near me. I vaguely recall seeing wave one in 2019 or 2020 during a non winter month at Dollar Tree but it's been so long I'm it sure if I just making that up heh. I may have to make a deal for some. Considering you specifically mentioned Dollar Tree I'm going to assume I'm not just imagining it.

How about these? They are 1:24 scaled but should be credible enemies for the Diaclone units

^ VERY cool toys there. I wouldn't use them in stock form with Diaclone or RiHio but i'd remove the frog heads and create some seating for Dianauts in the area behind the clear bubble helmet.

    Edit:
Some what like this but i would create an actual reclining seat for a full Dianaut figure).

I can imagine the fans of Bottle Toads would love those.

I’ve used the Final Faction aliens also. In addition, Mega Construx Halo or Destiny figures are power suited marines or aliens. Using different technology that have pros/cons to the Diaclone technology.
I’ve army built the Bayverse Shockwave figures -as they look very menacing.

and if you haven’t stocked up on HexBug Space, you’re missing out on very cool base options

I used the “bad guys” from Final Faction. All 3 of them. I army build them as they’re only $1 and you can modify them with the weapons packs. They have a Robotech Invid ? Feel to them

What vehicles with treads (tank like if you will) are you all using with your Diaclone and Rihio scale figures?
