Gamestop had non-transformable figures, one TF Select Deep Dive. and a few TF kingdom wave 2 deluxe. I called before going and the staff said they have all kind of TFs, leader, voyager, deluxe class.. but I guess what he meant the leader and voyager classes are the non-transformable fig/statue of a Grimlock and Optimus and a bumblebee that costs $49.99 !!! OMG.

 

Stonestown target has two 66 jokers, two studio thrusts and Wreck-Gar (rang up at 27 bucks)

 

College Grove Walmart has nothing of note.

College Grove Target has a Dracodon and SIX Thrusts. Ross nearby has nothing.

Mission Valley Target has 3 Dracodons, 2 Thrusts, and a… weird Worlds Collide set. By that, I mean the instructions are in full view, and Fangry and Nemesis Promal are wearing their beast mode heads. No idea if they’re missing anything, buy at your own discretion.

Sports Arena Target has a Bee/Barricade pack, a Core Prime and Megatron, and a Wheeljack (assume the rest of the Deluxes in the wave got taken). Ross nearby has nothing.

Clairemont Walmart has nothing of note.

Othello Target has a Core Prime, all 3 Buzzworthy 2-packs, an Origin Bee, 2 Wingfingers, and 3 Thrusts.

Balboa Target has 2 Barricade packs, 2 Dropkick packs, a Stinger pack, a Thrust, and a Grindor.

 

Target on S Euclid St, Anaheim, CA got some:

Nothing at Colma except a buzzworthy 2pack...there was a 66 batman but I literally saw it get taken...

They have ben Cooper Darth Vader costumes now in addition to Yoda

4 rodimus and 4 66 joker at serramonte...same guy who snatched the batman at Colma grabbed a bunch of other 66 figs

I made the trip out to meet a friend at Frank & Son Collectibles with a stop over at ToyArena in Puente Hills yesterday. Sooo much on the shelves. Pricing varied booth to booth from fair/slightly/too way over retail. Nice place to visit for whatever you happen to collect.

there's a store, Cards and Comics Central, here that similarly has a lot of stock on shelves (not transformers but general collectibles across various lines) and I've always wondered what the balancing point is between having stock and not selling enough that it just starts accumulating (guess that could hold true for personal collections as well) and negatively affects the business...

 

It's an excellent question because a lot of the big booth vendors have some success in moving product when the demand is high but they also use online retail platforms for a majority of sales lately. Not a lot of people impulse buy hot toys and sideshow collectibles at the booths despite all the foot traffic. But when they are hot somebody walks in and dropped $4000 on a Hot Toys delorean the prior week. The smaller vendors are usually moving volume items like Neca, Legos, Pops, Marvel Legend, Star Wars and Transformers with smaller but steady profit margins to keep doing business. The point you mentioned about not selling off enough inventory and driving away potential customers with sticker shock exist here as well. I was looking at maybe picking up a Netflix kingdom set at one booth with just all genre of things on the shelves and the markup was $130. I understand vendors needing to offset expenses but it's totally unacceptable to gouge items that are still on the shelves now at retail.

 

I finally broke today and got the Black Convoy (I refuse to use Hasbro's name) Spoiler Pack at the Toy Arena Booth at Frank and Sons. The Trailer is going to be my G2 Prime Trailer
