Geoff Johns wrote 4 episodes of it and plotted the season's story, he also wrote episodes of the Flash's first season and plotted the over all story arc. He was the creator the stargirl character in the comics. He also wrote the aquaman movie and the Shazam movie is based on his version of the comic. If he stays around as writer and plotter, it should hopefully stay consistent.
Stargirl Trailer Introduces Green Lantern's Daughter, Thunderbolt and a Major Villain I didn't expect Jade Scott or the Shade.
Well they did a good job of making Eclipso scary in the episode. Also not holding back on his power levels.
I continue to be impressed how they do not shy away from comic-book accurate looks to the characters on the show...Eclipso could come off a bit goofy looking under the wrong conditions but they made him suitably scary... their fight choreography is tons better than the show (Supergirl) that follows it on Tuesdays...just seeing Stargirl riding the staff, charging forward was tons more exciting than seeing the stock Supergirl dropping out of the sky and landing and the tired ratchet-yank push during battles they have lazily repeated over and over...heck I'd love to see simple rescue stuff like lifting a bus or other easy physical gags rather that the same old stuff on that show... the guy who plays Shade oozes charisma...reminds me of Lazenby Bond...
I guess they will need Green Lantern to come back and also need to rescue the Original Dr. Midnight to have any chance against Eclipso
They have Jade for that now, but her powers are expensive so we likely won't see her again till the season finale.
Well the season ended pretty well and I actually chucked at the last scene. Hope they can keep it up next season. Oh and that guy at the end is Spoiler Which either means or The DEO and CHeckmate.
There are things I liked about this season, including glimpses of the original JSA members in live action and a great portrayal of the Shade, but overall I found the season very slow, very padded and very bleak, to the point that it was hard to enjoy it after those first few episodes. We got way too much "Eclipso tortures a main cast member" in the middle of the season to the point that every episode felt the same four or five weeks in a row and I just got tired of it. This was a huge drop in quality and enjoyment from season one.
IDK, this season did see a bit more use of Stripe and Grundy didn't it? Plus the effects for Thunderbolt and Jennie's powers. Seems about on par budget wise with season 1 to me.
