To be honest I will stick with the cardboard playset packaging that come in the SDCC exclusive Dinobot set a few years back. The one with the Bayformers in G1 colors. Thanks for the comments saved 160 bucks. Maybe he might the Ark might show up at Ollie’s. Maybe I will get it then. Though Teletran 1 is an interesting addition but yeah after Trypticon, Omega and Scorponok. This one seems a bit out of place with the robot mode.
I think it’s cool but it’s really not to scale with anything (even the cockpit uses those tiny mini figures that scale with Unicron and that makes the Ark ship half the size of Unicron.) The tabbing in ship mode is a pain and doesn’t hold together neatly. The Robot mode is cool but simple. It’s not perfect but I like it but if you want to wait for a sale I wouldn’t blame you. He ranks last in terms of Titans and Commanders in WFC figures for me (still waiting on Rodimus who looks great).
Just got him yesterday and I'm really not impressed. Robot mode is goofy looking and I could not get the ship to tab in correctly to save my life. For such a simple transformation it should be easier to tab together correctly. The colors in ship mode bother me the most. The whole nose mid section is some flat like plastic and the rest isn't. Doesn't match well at all and scratches easy.
I’d say he’s mighty worth it,i have both Omega and Scorponok, and by far the Ark is amazing! Might be a little bit of new toy bias but for the price I got him ($180) he’s outstanding! With the Ark and Mainframe that $180 price tag is filled better than the likes of Scorponok. And if your a Chug collector like me,it’s amazing way to get teletran and the golden disks! Also the swoosh-ability of the Ark is undeniable
Worth it to me, but I paid £135 for it as opposed to what Hasbro wants to charge for it here (£160/70) which may have been another matter.
I only got it because I was certain I'd eventually regret not. But if I DO get it (which I did) there would always be someone ELSE who regretted not getting it, and if it sours on me I could sell it to them. Question is whether I'll be able to resist painting it like I did my Metroplex. For me he's a shuttle mode setpiece and so is Teletran, though I am annoyed by how easily his two small wing flaps pop off during transformation.
Picked up Wreck Gar off ebay after seeing reviews of that one just had to get him and feels like I don't really like huge figures anymore I don't play with them and they just take up space. Smaller figures are what I like so now that means I'll probably use my Gift Card for my Birthday on Dinobot Slug maybe or use it for a LEGO Set maybe the International Space Station set just getting to where there isn't a lot left for me to look for and finding the crazy priced stuff isn't that great to me especially since I can't really enjoy handling huge figures like the Titans so just feels like the Titans are Not getting into this collection after getting rid of the ones I had.
I may end up getting the Titan Class Ark After all if the sale price on Amazon holds till next week when I get my Gift Card and knock the price down to about $100 since $50 off a expensive item does tempt me to get it.... This is maddening folks! I think about writing this off and not getting it and then suddenly it pops up on a little bit of a Sale and then it's back on the list.
Buying a toy should never be maddening. Don’t complicate it, just take that plunge and enjoy your Ark when it arrives. Hard to regret it once you’re staring at a foot and a half tall of fabled ancient autobot glory.
Just finding that it's very appealing to me as a Starship Collector. After all the Iconic Ark would be a welcome addition to this collection. I can always pick up the Star Wars LEGO Imperial Shuttle next month, been eying that LEGO Set after getting Boba Fett's Starship.....
You nailed it! Even if the robot mode doesn’t do it for you (I’m a fan, full disclosure), it’s still THE ARK! This is the first (I believe) official representation of it for collectors and it’ll look awesome anywhere you put it, with or without upgrades or add ons. I’ve regretted some things in life but buying this was not one of them.
I know I at least get 1 Amazon Gift Card for my Birthday every year and it's getting to where I watch how much I spend especially after spending most of my collecting budget for this month...it's something for me to sleep on to think about spending another $100 plus sales tax but feels like even paying $100 for the Ark would be a decent deal -makes me wish Titans Originally would cost that much they would be more appealing to the wallet instead of it being $159-$169 online that always kills the interest seeing that high price tag. I'm too much of a Starship Collector and when I see that super cool Ship Mode....it WILL Make an awesome display piece in the Ship Mode. And if they ever do release a Nemesis feels like it'll have been worth the mental debate over getting it. Things like this require a considerable mental debate for me because of the money to be involved in getting an item like this. [Anything that's over $100 requires a mental debate over getting it cause that's a significant chunk of my collecting budget, if anything this means the end of my collecting budget for September and will have to unplug from hunting for deals till next collecting cycle starts in October]
That's part of what keeps me fixated on the Ark. Knowing Hasbro may eventually get to a Nemesis which would be super awesome has me mentally debating getting the Ark again cause I would kick myself if I miss the Ark. Feels like the more I see of the Ark the more I want it and I do like how other collectors are influencing me to get it but at the same time not sure where I'll put this it would have to stay in spaceship mode cause that's why I'm getting it and it feels like it has a lot going for it and if the price drops more between now and next week I'll be happy to pick it up then but have to wait till next week when I get my Gift Card for my Birthday so it feels like I haven't had to debate mentally over this type of purchase but since I'm a starship collector it really does appeal to me so feels like if there are anymore Transformers ships released grabbing the Ark makes sense to me for the collection to have this great big ship in it.
Titan figures generally go up in value as time goes on. An Ark redo doesn’t seem likely so for me it’s a no-brained to just grab this.
