if you really want the effects sometimes you have to bite the bullet.

i have a brand new metallic megs that has blast the effects that is just taking up space.

i wont part it out but i will definitely sell the bots cheaper than list.

My OG EX's metallic paint is starting to come off in spots as is the "chest hair" paint. Granted I transform and mess with it a lot but still somewhat annoying. Is this happening to anyone else? I keep the toon version (with leg upgrade) in the display. In retro I wonder if I should've put the metallic in the display and left the toon version out. Either way...Looking like I'm gonna have some fun trying to repaint this guy.

 

Yeah, I have a copy on my desk at work (which I transform often), and the chest squiggle started to flake off. I was able to scratch off the rest with a fingernail, so he has a plain grey chest now. To be honest, I was very surprised how easily it came off.

I do have a second copy at home for display purposes, though, but I don’t think I’ll be handling it too much from now on!

 

My chest hair rubbed off the first day I had him. It's extremely delicate. I had the same issue with their BugBite and his tribal tattoo.

There is a reissue of the EX version coming out soon, isn't there? Is there any hint that it might have improved paint?

 

There is and if I had to guess I'd say probably not. The only difference will likely be that it comes with the hip upgrade.

 

It is so strange that the barrel tip does rotate for bot mode.
Has anybody modified the peg? I’m not sure I want to mess with it and make it loose but I’d really prefer not to have to partsform it every time

 

Scraped off the remaining chest hair and touched up the chest in addition to painting over the red wrists (which were also scraping off) to make them silver. Added some touch up to the metallic areas on the back as well. Pretty happy with the output. Used testers metallic silver (I think that was the color). We'll see how it holds up. Also ordered him a proper leg upgrade because his ball joint legs were starting to bother me more than I thought they would.

 

Anyone who’s bought the recent reissue know if it comes with the upgraded legs or the original pair?

both ShowZ and TerryTFS listings for the re-issues explicitly state they come with the new legs. in fact ShowZ goes so far as to show the photo on the box art of the figure has been changed to reflect that.

 

I recently bought the toon grey rerelease from bombusbee and it came with the newer legs installed. Good catch @TIKnTIN, I didn’t even notice the back of box shot adjustment. But I just checked mines out, and they retook the picture; adding in their own constructicons and the newer legs. Some serious attention to detail that may have otherwise went unnoticed by an untrained eye   

I was thinking that the tone of grey paint was a little different than the one initially used, but don’t have the first release to do a side by side. I know they did some minor color adjustments on the 2nd runs of their soundwave & jazz. Maybe this guy can be added to that list too

Show Z sold out of the initial release, so I’m doubly sure that any stock they currently hold is the new one.

Has anyone got both black and silver toy versions with the new face sculpt? That'd be nice to see them together. The silver paint seems to make it look a bit different to the black one.
