DX9 Hanzo?

 

Came in to see if this guy has gone down in price but I think I’ll just wait for this.

 

I'm looking at reorganizing my display and I might have to sell Hydra. I can't justify having both him and Hanzo, and Hanzo seems way more alive even if Hydra is technically more accurate. (Also, selling off Hydra nets me a tidier profit, LOL)

man i need that Legends Sixshot

 

A little over a year ago I thought these would be out of stock but I found one at TCP and picked it up because I love the character. Already had Fuuma but FT did such a nice job with this one as well for that toon accuracy.

I would like it if this bot got a G1-toy inspired released with some mould updates. Slightly bigger head for one and less fake parts. G1-toy inspired feet would look great as well.

Do you think this guy it’s till worth it in 2021? There are lots still available in china for about 150 dollars.. I kind of like the blocky look it has, and finally came to the realisation that all my best figures are Fanstoys or Takara- so thinking to scoop up the remaining FT I don’t have

 

If you want a G1 representation of Sixshot I don’t think you’ll be able to get a more faithful version, for 150 it’s a steal, just some weird engineering/articulation choices but he looks fantastic in my display.

 

Great for display, terrible for play. His knees suck, and some tabs are so tight it feels like you're going to break him to get them to work. His poseability is bad. Other than that, he looks perfect.

 

Luckily there are many MP and Stylized Sixshots. DX9 (Hanzo), G-Creations (Fuuma) and this one. All three are top notch. If you like the cut of FT's Jib as far as looks (or what stylization toward comic or show) over the other two offerings then that is the best way to go.
Its 2022 but don't worry, time has little to do with collecting in this realm. If you lean towards brand, again here you can't go wrong.

For me, I like FT Sixshot like I like my other Sixshot MPs, the only flaw I think he has are the baby hands. I'm a big SixShot fan myself, in addition to multiple copies of DX9 and G-Creation variants have all the Mastermind and KO releases too.

At $150, I should probably pick another FT copy up in case of the Nuclear Winter.

Yea its all about the display.. there are so many others in my collection to transform and use as occasional desk bots, so its ok if its an arse to mess around this guy as long as he looks the part next to the other MP's. I used to hate FT for their incredible prices and seemingly evangelical fans, but now I know why.. they make models with incredible presence it seems  

ok so I can't even pose him well- he's gonna look a bit stiff and boring..   I guess that's ok- jeez I must be desperate haha!

Daymn- that's a fine collection of this guy. I don't care about the G1 cartoon, it never really screened in the UK as a kid, but I was a MASSIVE fan of the comics... The UK comics were really amazing... I guess somewhere down the line- the comics looked like the G1 cartoon and less like the toys, but their narratives where miles apart in terms of character development   I don't remember six shot in the comics, but he looks pretty retro which is why Im keen to pick it up

No worries- I moved to Shanghai 3 years ago and discovered MP collecting there, and Taobao has some really decent prices. There is a company that's directly affiliated with Taobao that loosely translates as 'leisure fish' (but people call it 'stinky fish' as a nickname and its Chinese name is Xianyu). This other app is like eBay but with zero guarantees. As soon as you pay you are in a trust deal, but the seller probably wont want to break the trust as they will booted off the site/ app and unable to join again.. The easiest way to access this Chinese Ebay app is to search for things in Taobao and then if you see a yellow icon you know the item is not in a Taobao shop, instead its in Xianyu. Using the Taobao app on your phone you can then be led to download the Xianyu app.

Haven't been in this thread for quite a long time after it's beginning for a few pages.

@Immersive - Your choice if you want to go with Hydra/Fuuma/Hanzo. I got a store displayed Hydra for $160 CDN at my local TF/1/6th/Action Figure Store and the IDW inspired Fuuma (Metallic version) from Tony in April of last year. Both are still in my collection with Fuuma back in the box as I have no room to display it.

Legs extended on Fuuma and much taller than Hydra. Both have its issues, however get what you like hope that you are satisfied with it. Note that I didn't get Hanzo at all - personal choice.
