Rock wasn't there as he was doing movies.

Austin apparently kept to himself on the flight as this was around the time he was on his way out and was done with everybody's shit.

IIRC Taker has always said he was out drunk for the whole thing and woke up near the end to break up Vince and Angle. Never come across anyone saying different, but he isn't going to be looking good next week though as it's the Kanyon episode.

Haitch was probably loving it and certainly wasn't going to do shit about Flair.

really makes me wonder if flair knew the episode would be brutal and asked to resign from wwe and hasnt appeared elsewhere yet to weigh just how bad the fallout would be.

that way no terminations no firing no calls for injustice. he can just hide with his riches as long as he likes or until this shit ever goes to a full blown investigation/trial.

Best case: Either a settlement involving that suit prevents her/Dustin from speaking about it, or she has moved on and has no desire to discuss it.
Worst case: The producers deliberately avoided the subject out of a desire to protect Dustin.

Enjoyed the Ruby/Britt promo last night.

Too much wrestling to watch next week between the stacked AEW shows and the G1, but its a nice problem to have.

There was nothing new learnt from the latest DSOTR episode but the flight attendant's involvement did give the whole thing an emotional and powerful punch previously not felt. The whole plane ride from hell incident had become a jocular collection of 'the boys being the boys' anecdotes joked about in shoot interviews - but when you see a victim it becomes ugly, sinister and criminal.

I do feel slightly sorry for Dreamer, he's probably spent an hour being interviewed on the topic where he's taken the stance to defend (in a misguided way) the business, the boys and a legend like Flair. He's come across in the edit as a callous slimeball, which is a shame because he's previously come across as one of the good guys.

The episode has given some real food for thought, but anyway back to wrestling - an exciting end of the month coming up for AEW and NJPW. AEW are really providing some quality content right now.

Im not an advocate of the current media "cancelings" or anything like that but if you knowingly drugged and raped people I hope your career and bank account are ruined forever. Hope all of these criminals are exposed for who they truly are regardless of if the law can still prosecute them.

Off topic but u guys ever hear of this rib they pulled on Regal during Superstars awhile ago? As he was coming down to the ring instead of his normal theme, whoever in the back (probably Vince) played his original "A real Man's man" theme when he 1st signed with WWF lol

You can totally see him,the Ref and Daniel Bryan cracking up lol:D

Best part is as soon as they kicked back to his normal music, his expression shifted right back into serious mode. There are times I wonder how far Regal could have gone if he didn't have the issues he did (can't remember if it was alcohol or drugs or both)

So completely forgot Impact had a PPV tonight and there was a BIG twist to end it:

Josh Alexander voluntarily vacated the X-Division Championship (“Option C”, after successfully retaining against Chris Sabin) to challenge Christian Cage for the Impact Championship (Right after Christian successfully retained against Ace Austin). The match has officially been booked for Impact’s next PPV, Bound For Glory, on October 23 here in Las Vegas

Ive been thinking and have an out of the box suggestion for WWE programming: what if they move a show like Main Event to one of the movie channels like HBO or Showtime, channels that feature series with very strong mature content, and turned it into an Attitude Era type show. Stuff that they couldn't get away with on USA or FOX. The superstars featured are the ones that arent getting any regular air time on Raw or SD so in order to let some steam out have them go full on-all out for one hour. Rotate them in an out with guys on Raw and SD all of a sudden creative have “nothing for them”. Midcarders that one week are on TV and then not seen for like a month. If they cant be big fish in a big pond then maybe a smaller one might be just the thing they need.
Bring back the model valets as easy fodder for promos, bring back more of that hardcore wrestling style (of course still being safe and avoiding major chair shots to the head), have the superstars cut loose on their promos, no censoring no holding back, not shy of tackling edgy subject matter, experiment with characters. Give them their own championship: the Hardcore Championship belt.
Even if the ratings are so-so for fans it might be a fun escape from the current main shows and a neat throwback.

The problem with that is the logistics of moving your people around. Unless you're switching "brands" for a prolonged period, it doesn't work to be gone for a few weeks at a time, cultivating a persona and hype you cant bring back with you to the PG main roster. Look at Finn Balor. He rebranded in his second NXT run - being closer to edgy NJPW Prince Devitt. He was gone for a little over a year.... And then he returned to Smackdown to turn back into the exact same guy he was three years ago - even going back to the "Demon" for his PPV matches. He turned right back into the guy they "had nothing for" that was getting less and less of a reaction, each week.

That said, your idea for a more mature and old school wrestling show sounds a lot like AEW

Cringey edgelord bullshit isn't the actual reason why mid to late 90s wrestling was good, nor is the lack of it the reason why modern WWE is terrible. Also as solarstorm pointed out, they literally just had a show that ran for 8 years where people could go to retool and show more character before they changed it into a smaller version of everything else they do.

The only real answers for WWE's problems is for Vince and his cronies to go away or for their audience to stop watching so that the networks won't pay for it in it's current form anymore, anything short of that is just shuffling the deckchairs on the Titanic.

AEW is like 90% of why that period was actually good and they are working on that last 10% as much as possible within the current realities of the market. Just change the channel instead of wasting time hoping that shit wrestling shows made by a shit entertainment company owned by shit people that don't actually like wrestling might get better at some indeterminate point in the future.
