Inspired (obviously) by rapidfirestormer’s thread about decepticon scientists but I felt like this was a distinct enough topic to warrant its own discussion

    Knockout, obviously

Once I saw a concept for a helicopter medic Lockdown and I thought it was kinda neat. I think it's a somewhat creative approach to his previous established character, where he was a hitman who took parts of his victims. Maybe he can use some of his spare parts for his patients...

Knockout is my favorite Decepticon medic.

Hookline (my version of Hook) and Glit would also exist in universe.

Scalpel. If Ratchet encapsulates the world-weary yet kindhearted and well-meaning side of being a doctor, Scalpel encapsulates the invasive and squeamish feeling you get when seeing a doctor. The idea of a small spiderlike creature that crawls all over you and (presumably) inside you to do repairs is the exact kind of medic I'd expect the Decepticons to have.

I'm honestly kind of disappointed he never ended up in newer incarnations, like Barricade did (outside of some non-show Animated stuff). The Decepticons don't really have a regular medic, so I think Scalpel should have filled that role moving forward. I'm not really sure if Scalpel is technically considered a medic or a scientist...but in my headcanon he'd be the medic, since the scientist role would be filled by Shockwave (or any of the other numerous Decepticon scientists from over the years).

I was also going to say Deluge, but he'd be more one of the bio-scientists.

There aren’t many canonical Decepticon medics, thinking about it. Maybe they go all Sangheili and see getting medical attention as ‘dishonorable’? I dunno.

I think the main reason why he hasn’t made the jump to anything else is that he’s just too small

They don't need medics, because they're mostly cannon fodder.

I feel like the resident medic would be more a maintenance officer rather than a medic.

But yeah, for me, it would certainly be Knock Out. I feel like you need someone with the sardonic wit of a Miss Brooks or the smug, charming attitude of a Doc Bricker (if you've seen Love Boat) to add some extra entertainment to the 'con side.

Moonheart and Glit. From the JP G1.

    And Hook, sort off.

Knock Out, followed by Hook based solely on that one time he proved competent enough to be a medic when he worked with the autobots

Hook. His profile states that he “performs his job with skill unequalled among the Transformers”. Enough said, considering “his job” is surgical engineer.

In my opinion, Knockout was too late in the game to usurp Hook. And besides, Knockout at times seemed like a moron to me. I enjoyed him as comedic relief, but never took him seriously.

I didn’t realize the Decepticons even had any medics! If I had to choose one, though…probably Hook or Shockwave.

Flatline as the day-to-day repairs guy (a la Hoist), Scalpel and Hook as the surgeons.

I kind of like Flatline as the medic that nobody wants to go see, though I could see him as a scientist as well.
