    Looking great!

    Be aware that the Mega Everdrive Pro doesn't support the MD+ format. It could, as TerraOnion open-sourced the format. But Krikzz doesn't want to.

    Replacing the music in Thunder Force 4 though, I cannot approve of such heresy. :p

    There's awesome versions out there

    But I must have mixed it up with another game. I thought the whole soundtrack was available in cd audio quality from some special release soundtrack. But I don't find anything like it.

    I just played a little Thunder Force IV. It's still awesome. I remembered when I bought it back then, because it was cheap. not knowing what it was. And I was blown away by it. The music still rocks, the graphics are awesome, the weapons, everything :D

    edit:
    I now remember what I mixed it up with. There's the Thunderforce Gold Pack on Sega Saturn and it has CD-Audio, but the CD-Audio apparently is just the same as the Mega Drive music. I just searched my hard drive and found the answer ^^;

    @Murasame

    MD+ and MSU-MD are two different formats.

    MSU-MD works by adding a Sega CD Mode 1 driver to the game. It has the advantage of working on an actual Sega CD with a burned disc. However, it can't seamlessly loop audio tracks, since it is using a real or simulated CD audio disc.

    MD+ is (ironically, given the names) much more like MSU-1 on SNES. Although it hasn't been used for it yet, it supports streaming other kinds of data such as video or expanded sprite data. It's more concerned with quality-of-life than reproducing hardware limitations, so it's perfectly happy to loop audio tracks seamlessly. For those doing the hacks, it has the advantage of not needing to inject a hardware driver into the ROM.

    Both formats are open and anyone is welcome to implement them. Mega SD supports both. Mega Everdrive Pro only supports MSU-MD. It's not something that would be a deciding factor for me in choosing a flash cart. But it's something you'll need to be aware of when hunting patches for your games.

    What do you guys think are the chances, if Analogue Duo becomes successful, that they make their own FPGA SegaCD with optical drive?

    I decided to sell my Sega Multi-Mega and I'm debating whether I should just put some MegaCD games with it, that I could do without and keep the best games or if I should put most or all games with it, to achieve a higher bid. Without any means to play the actual discs, there's not much need to keep them. Other than being happy to own them. Or I wait until I get more money for the games, as the games for 16 bit consoles seem to go up in price currently. I have gems like Soulstar and Robo Aleste.

    In any way I would keep SonicCD, as I love the soundtrack. But I also love the soundtrack of Soulstar. Hmmm.

    IMG_20210914_214949.jpg That a defect Rom or setting in Mega Sg? It's actually from an archive that's labeled good genesis Roms.

    Hm on Super NT the same for some games

    But I found my perfect scanlines settings for both devices. :)

    Funny story. Waaaaaayy back in the day, Cowering created the "GoodTools" databases to catalog all the various ROMs floating around in the wild, so that people could identify and get rid of files that were known to be bad, and keep the ones that were known (or believed) to be good.

    But people, being as people are, decided that a full "Good Set" (named for the tools--GoodNES, GoodGen, etc) should contain ALL of the ROMs cataloged in the database. So now, ironically, people intentionally pack all the BAD ROMs they can find into the "GOOD" ROM sets, completely defeating the original purpose. I mean, they're supposed to be labeled, so the ones with [!] in the name ought to be good, theoretically.

    But the gold standard nowadays is No-Intro. They don't keep known bad games in their database when a known good one exists.

    OK, now both Analogues have metal decals. Sadly for Mega Drive I don't have the logo.

    Glad I ordered two of the famicom logo. The fine parts were a little hard to loose from the transfer foil and stick to the surface. Had to transplant the I dot of the first foil and 2 small lines of the first sticker did not stay on the transfer foil, that's why I had to choose the second one in the end.

    By the way, I got these here :)  LM Wojdyla on Etsy

    Only just noticed today that the PCE port of Forgotten Worlds was on CD, so immediately went to YouTube to look for the music and gawd fucking damn -

    Now I'm disappointed that whoever did the MAME fork with the Mega CD Final Fight music didn't hook this up as well.

    Also worth mentioning that Redump is the equivalent for optical disc systems.

    I now used ClrMamePro to use the Parent-Clone XMLs from No-Intro to trim my ROMs after my preferred region settings. If I had known before of this. Would have saved me a lot of trouble. Now I got trimmed rom sets to work with and choose from. There's only some exceptions from the rule, like with Shinobi I prefer the japanese revision due to later changes and it being faster than the pal version. I need to do those exceptions manually. But overall this was so much faster than cleaning up manually. Now if I could find out how to easily sort the roms after genre to folders.

    Wow, put up my multi-mega on ebay yesterday and it's already sold. But woah, 10% eBay fees. And I now have to pay shipping first, before I get the money -.-

    Wish they would show you upfront how much money you'll get. I always fall into the trap of putting the price that I want, but then ebay fees ruin that.
