It’s also worth noting that lego wouldn’t be able to make the sets without including “The Suicide Squad” branding, and to me it seems like they would want to avoid including the words “Suicide” on a set/in a set’s description, even if it’s just for the movie title.

absolutely, i do not see an R Batman happening even with the few demonstrations that Rs can survive.
If there is an R-Rated Batman, i expect it to be for more interesting reasons than that. TDK did indeed do a lot, and a cussing brutalising Batman seems like it could very easily be just for aesthetic adultness (which, unfortunately Batman media loves but)

Batman and Superman are the top two superheroes/comics of all time, there films need to be G rated, but you can push PG-13, as the characters have/had a tremendous child following, MCU did an exceptional job with marketing Captian America, Ironman, Spiderman, Thor, and the rest of the MCU, which other then the Hulk are second/third string characters.

I don't think Spider-Man should be lumped with them. He was really popular upon debut.

I can already tell you that's not how they do things. I tried to pitch a few Sea of Thieves-inspired LEGO sets in Ideas, but they were rejected outright because of a stipulation in their rules where once they create a single set based on a "property" - in this case the property being pirate ships and islands in general, due to the Pirates of Barracuda Bay set - nobody else is allowed to do so again. And beyond that, the rules also insist that their engineers and product people will be the judges of whether an Idea has enough merit to have further sets created in the series, which if they do everything will be done in-house and independent of the original creator.

So LEGO has likely long since decided that a new in-house space or medieval theme wouldn't be profitable, regardless of how well the exo-suit and blacksmith house sold. On top of that they've engineered Ideas to be as restrictive as possible in terms of allowing fans to express themselves, basically forcing people to restrict what they come up with to hyper-specialized sets such as the typewriter. LEGO evidently doesn't like being outdone by its own fans, but beyond that they seem to also be refusing to acknowledge the potential of Ideas to scout out talent or act as early marketing for how popular particular themes are. And yet they break their own rules all the time, as seen with the ongoing Minecraft line, since the original Minecraft Idea wasn't one set, but an Idea for a theme (breaking the "no pitching themes" rule) and at that an idea where they've continued to work with the people who originally pitched the theme.

Costco has the new 3-1 Medieval Castle for $75 (25% MSRP). At that price it was a no brainer. But my wife could not be persuaded to let me get 3 haha.

Costco also has advent calendars for $30 (Star Wars, Avengers, and Harry Potter).

I just built today the shark. I'm a bit tempted to buy other copies of the set to try the megalodon moc I saw on YouTube.

LEGO Ninjago 2022 Sets: Keine neuen Modulars, dafür aber Dojotempel!

    Ninja time

    71757 Lloyd's Ninja Mech
The little green mech is a 4+ set. The 'Mech has two golden swords in its hands. There is also a small built stone. The figures include Lloyd and a snake. The set consists of 57 parts and will cost 9.99 euros.

    71760 Jay's Doner Dragon EVO
The set includes Jay's well-known blue thunder dragon, but its construction is very reminiscent of a 4+ set. The minifigures include Jay and a snake. The set consists of 140 parts and will cost 19.99 euros.

    71761 Zane's Power-Up Mech EVO
Zane's Mech has also been shrunk and only has 95 parts. Includes Zane and a snake. The set costs 9.99 euros.

    71762 Kais fire dragon EVO
The red fire dragon is similar in size to the thunder dragon and consists of 204 parts. The set includes Kai, a snake with a jetpack and a snake with a drone as figures. The set Sol costs 29.99 euros.

    71763 Lloyds EVO racing car
This set is a new edition of the 70641 Ninja Nightcrawler from 2018. But this model is also a lot smaller than its predecessor. The minifigures include Lloyd and two snakes. The set consists of 279 parts and costs 29.99 euros.

    71764 Ninja training center

According to the rumor mill, this set should be a small modular. As is always the case with code names, in the end they don't have to have much to do with the final product. So here too - at least in the conventional sense. The set is a loose backdrop of different scenarios with different ninja training objects, such as a punching bag, a target, a snake pit and a slide. All these things can be modularly connected to each other and also connected to the large 71767 ninja dojo temple. The figures are Jay, Zane in a top and a snake with a small mech. The set costs 39.99 euros, consists of 524 parts, but will not be released until March 2022.

    71765 Ultra Combination Ninja Mech

This mech looks like it sprang from one of the wildest Power Rangers fever dreams. The four contained ninja Zane, Cole, Kai and Jay have apparently merged their original companions here. The shoulder plates and head are blue, the arms are black with gold drills on the hands, the body is red with another pair of smaller arms holding a sword, and the legs and feet are white. The set includes two smaller snake mechs as opponents, each holding two swords and not even reaching the ninja mech up to the waist. The set costs 84.99 euros and consists of 1104 parts.

    71766 Llyod's legendary dragon

Lloyd's green dragon is also getting a new edition, but it actually looks pretty good and big. The dragon has a dark blue belly and dark blue lower legs and feet. The thighs, wings and head are green. The minifigures include Lloyd, Nia and two snakes. The 747 parts cost you 59.99 euros.

    71767 Ninja Dojo Temple
The largest set of the wave is the ninja dojo temple and contrary to what was initially assumed, this set is not a new modular building either. However, it can be connected to the 71764 ninja training center at least in some places. The temple stands on a rock foundation and is designed like a pagoda. The roofs are dark green, the walls are white with brown decorations.

A small staircase leads to a large red front door. A red bridge leads from the temple to a small fountain and a tree. Minifigures include Lloyd, Wu, Nia, Cole, Kai and two snakes. There is also a small fire mech and a vehicle for the snakes. The set costs 99.99 euros and consists of 1394 parts.

    Spinjitzu Ninja Training Sets

In addition to the 71764 Ninja Training Center, three other small LEGO Ninjago 2022 sets will appear in March. These are 70688 Kais Spinjitzu Ninja Training, 70689 Jay's Spinjitzu Ninja Training and 70690 Lloyds Spinjitzu Ninja Training. All three sets cost 9.99 euros each and consist of 25 to 32 parts. Each time it is a color-matched top to wind up and small accessories.

Huh. My draw to Ninjago was always the more 'traditional' ninja sets, since I missed that entire theme back in the day; they've had a couple good ones over the years that are more 'ninja' and less 'go', as it were. 71764 and 71767 sound interesting enough that I'll bother looking at pictures when they come up.

Agreed. And last year the Elf Clubhouse was pretty scarce for a while, I only managed to get one during a short random back in stock alert window.

Went ahead and ordered Santa's Visit, as well as Hogsmeade and the Mandalorian Armory (an "exclusive" to Lego and Target) to get the sailboat. Don't want to miss out on the Christmas sets before they dry up.

To clarify, it's for 200 rewards points at My Nintendo. Not Lego VIP points.

If you go look at My Nintendo they have a way to "buy" 250 VIP points for 0 coins. At least it was there for me as well.

This sounds like a mix of sets for the next season and Legacy to me. Presumably we’ll know more in the next couple months.

OH! Because in Lego VIP Rewards, for 0 Lego points you can get 200 My Nintendo points. I thought that is what you guys were talking about. So they are doing a reciprocal promotion.

Yep seems like it. I should get the 200 My Nintendo points as well, but don't really care for the silver coins.

Oh I'm sure we'll get those as well - the real question is if they'll use the KeatonBat cowl from the UCS sets, and if we'll get a new 89 minifig scale batmobile set.
