Nice! Would be great if there original voice actors came back to voice them. Really looking forward to seeing Cheetor.

So First look at Maximals esigma in The Movie

 

Kind of I orginally thought it was the Autobot and Maximal logo's merged together but you could be right that this is the actual Maximal logo.

 

I do kind of find it amusing that Mirage can create copies of himself, even if I prefer the invisibility myself.

Also not sure how I feel about that as being the faction symbol for the Maximals, on the one hand I do think I prefer it being the original symbol and not just... being the Autobot symbol inside of a shape, but on the other hand if the idea is that the Maximals are from the future I can kinda see what they're going for... even if it's more on the nose.

No, it doesn't, because creating holograms wasn't Mirage's power either - that was Hound's. Mirage just turned invisible. The debate remains because they easily could have done this trick with any car.

 

   

Mirage: Personality of RID15 Sideswipe, alt-mode similar to G1 Jazz, ability of G1 Hound. Original character doughnut steel.

 

His original bio states he creates holograms for many things including making himself invisible, while Hound only was able to make maps and that's it. So they're using that like how the Netflix show did.

Heck, he himself even used them to project Menasor's face in the original cartoon.

 

Yeah, Mirage's original bio does mention that he causes other robots to see mirages, so even if the cartoon did not use that, it is still in official reference material that someone working on media might have come across while doing their research and they would have been like "oh, we can use that in the movie'' or whatever.

 

Then explain this.

Literally ten seconds in, Hound is standing in front of two other Hounds before he deactivates his holograms. And then he turns into a rock hologram.

 

Ehhh, I think that's stretching it just a bit. It specifically states "Electro-disrupter can cast illusions altering his physical placement and appearance for up to 6 minutes." Taking into account his MTMTE profile which expands upon his original tech spec, it seems rather than make copies of himself he's able to render himself invisible or change his physical appearance.



Pedantic? Perhaps, I prefer to think of it as being precise.
