The great thing about the Quintessons... like the really excellent thing about their whole view of the world... is that their entire concept of warrior is "short fat guy who will absolutely throw hands if you call him short or fat." They've got a whole planet of tall, lean guys with guns built in to their forearms, and they're like "why are you fighting, you're supposed to be dock workers." Then they pat one of their perfectly round boys on the head and go "now this is a fighter."

Don’t look behind door #2, Monty! It’s time to play “End of the Line, My Valentine!”

Check out this sleek, sexy import! Wreck-Gar might be the most screen accurate SS86 figure we’ve had yet. He looks amazing. Definitely has the best headsculpt of any official iteration of the character. Loving all the spikes, even if a couple of them are slightly crooked. So cool how they did his wheels with the studded treads, one of my favorite design cues. From the chest barrels, to the saddlebags, to his accessories, Wreck-Gar is dang near perfect.

I say dang near perfect, because at least on my copy, he had a few issues outta the box. Aside from the crooked spikes, the waist connection tab and waist swivel were insanely loose. He looked like he was doing the Twist with a permanent ab crunch. Legs were a bit wobbly too and his left shoulder couldn’t stay up if flexed outward. So yeah, kind of a floppy mess. Floor polish to the rescue and my goodness can he pose a treat now. The flexibility on Wreck-Gar is outstanding.

So good that he can pull off a nice reach-behind-the-back-and-draw-my-axe pose. Transformation for Wreck-Gar is almost stupefyingly pleasing.

    7EFFEDB6-A7AF-4F83-A1B3-2563DD6B9FE6.jpeg
But not as stupefyingly pleasing as the end result. This magnificent Mad-Maxian monstrosity of a motorcycle is a whole mood. And the mood is awesome!
The way the chest and back fold out and extend for the frame is almost surreal. He is compressed very nicely in robot mode and does an excellent job of hiding all this awesome. I love how his head hides under the windshield. Forgot to take a picture, but he actually has gauges on the back of his head for the bike mode, excellent touch!
I don’t know why, but I’m glad that he has his saddlebags. Just always loved that detail. I like how the gun barrels are adjustable. Their placement in both modes is apt, to say the least. Love the paint deco in this mode too. The Junkion swoosh on the front and the gold flame pattern are just the right amount of stunning. And I love that you can store the axe in this mode without it being obnoxious. But possibly the best feature about this mode….. 20CDFC1E-34A9-49B7-B846-C5458EF9955C.jpeg
…..Is that it allows riders. And normally I’m not a stickler for scale, but it is quite nice that Wreck-Gar is of a large enough size class to accommodate this. This just adds to the awesome.

It may have taken a little polish, but Wreck-Gar is definitely a highlight of this line so far. He’s got the look, he’s got the moves, he’s got the tools, and he’s got the modes to set the mood. I’ve been waiting for a version of one of this fan’s favorite characters from the ‘86 movie for a long time. Satisfaction guaranteed!

Could you take a picture of a lone Sweep next to Cyclonus and Galvatron and then swap the Sweep out for Scourge and take another one? I'm definitely liking the colors on the Sweeps a lot more (I always felt Scourge looked a little too purple ever since his first images leaked) and I'm trying to decide whether I want to open my Scourge or resell it and get a Sweep to use as him instead. Just want to see which one version looks better on its own next to the other TFTM villains.

It's wild how they all look fine on their own while Scourge looks a tad too desaturated and Sweep looks oversaturated when they are next to each other.

Agreed, that happened to me with Jazz and Blurr, and I was really shocked because most of the time there is only the CYBERVERSE stuff on the shelves here in Charleston.

Although, his Shark mode hips are kinda loose. Anyone else find that?

Totally agree with all that you said. I've wanted a good representation of him since the 80s marvel comics and the movie he is bang on the money. Can't comment on the qc issues yet I'll have a look in a bit (aside from the spikes like you mentioned). Slag has a few loose bits I noticed straight away.

Is the paint mask any different or is the difference just the lighter shade of blue?

I think theres some darker blue paint on the center chest where the insignia is on the Sweep but otherwise I dont think there is much difference.
