Are you fucking kidding me? When did Mill Creek say this? That's absolute bullshit and unacceptable!!!!
In the original announcement they didn't say it'll get Take Me Higher, and they're also not including The Final Odyssey due to the draconian music rights. https://twitter.com/millcreekent/status/1413914170328768517?lang=en
But why would they talk about Take Me Higher in the first place? It's an opening theme, it's already assumed it will be part of the releases. This makes no fucking sense though. It was on the Funimation DVDs so it not being here is a complete slap in the face from Mill Creek. And Tsuburaya needs to learn how to tell Johnny to fuck off because they own the show, NOT Johnny. HOpefully that is just for the trailer and the release will actually have the opening, so I'm not going to make a stink about it yet on Twitter and Facebook until I physically watch the DVDs.
Johnny’s has control of the song rights. They also have a bit of a strangle hold on the Japanese entertainment industry. They’re also the reason Daigo’s actor has appeared so infrequently in subsequent shows and movies since the show ended. It’s a whole mess. Although even in the west there are examples of shows not having the original opening theme song on their home media releases because of rights issues. I just found out the Married With Children DVDs had to use sound-alike instrumentals over their opening credits.
Hence why Japanese companies need to grow some balls and tell Johnny to fuck off. They need to learn who is really in charge and what century this is. Japan needs to pull their head out of the 1960s in their business practices. If Take Me Higher wasn't already on the Funimation DVDs, sure, but they were, so there is no excuse.
Man, I'm getting that bad feeling that if they made Tiga Dark will be plagued by the same qc problems that Tiga has. (shivers) And yes I'm knocking on wood on that statement.
here's a head-scratcher... i remember having a soft vinyl kaiju toy...yellow, lumpy all over with a magnet in one paw that could hold a metal car...I'm assuming it was an Ultraman monster from the late 70s but haven't ever been able to figure out what it was...haven't found a pic of the toy in searches... ring any bells?
Saw the Dyna DVD set was up for preorder on Amazon. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09F16LY6C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_VW7A6KM1JEKKEMGGYXNZ
Dang I was hoping with this live YouTube special that is shared with Japan and international that the figuarts they announced would be on US premium Bandai. But Tiga tristorium rainbow is like available everywhere but the US it’s co sponsored by figuarts and that was the first of three announcements though I’m not sure all three are toys.
I was surprised that with all that buildup it wasn’t getting an announcement with Bluefin either. Worse, the display they threw together still has the Ultrawomam Grigio prototype, teasing an announcement that never actually happened! Props to Taiga’s actor for asking Bandai to get on doing a Photon Earth form SHF, haha.
