Then instead of kvetching about it, ask someone here on the forums to get a second one for you and pay them the regular price to send it to you.

    I don't want it..

I'm not buying these arguments honestly.
Yes a marvel legend is cheaper in theory..its not at the store. But it's not something I'm gonna cherry pick over.

Hasbro learned quite awhile ago how to bake in all heads and mold changes to maximize the molds they make for the toys.

It's the same arguments I see in the price hike threads. There is always an excuse for raising the price, but weirdly enough the prices never come down.

I remember hasbro once blamed oil being so expensive for raising prices. Well oil has crashed a few times. Prices never went down.

I've watched plastics get thinner and I was laughed at when I brought it up..yet here we are.
I've watched toys get smaller and smaller because "cost".

I'm sorry they can afford to eat the price of a stand if they really wanted to.

Sometimes it's amazing what people will swallow in these Fandoms

Then congrats, you're getting it for "free", without explicitly paying for it. Throw it out then. Same difference.

Ah, there it is. The whole tired "capitalist corporation should be run more like a charity because 'reasons'" argument.

Hasbro is a publicly-traded company. That means their shareholders expect a certain amount of returns for the investments they make, and therefore strict profit margins are put in place to make sure they remain in good graces. Every "freebie" they throw at us means lower profit margins. Lower profit margins equals unhappy investors, which can lead to investor revolt and ultimately company upheaval, or bankruptcy at worst.

Hasbro is worth $11B in IP holdings and "investor confidence". It's not $11B in liquid assets, for them to piss away as they will with no promise of returns.

They could in theory repaint a toy and shove it in as a tier. But not a remold unless they really loved us.

I'm not gonna throw it away either. That's just stupid. I cam disagree with something and not say something dumb like this.

Ah yes..that's not what I said at all.

Ah I see the edit now.
Yeah still a bunch of crap I have no issue with and really wasn't arguing. I have no issue with them making money. I just can smell bullshit reasons for what they are.

Given that I do understand covid and what not has crunched things all over the place, but that doesn't excuse the overall trend of what hasbro has been doing for the past 15 years.

Honestly, I think there's a good chance they put JG1 up on their YouTube channel or Netflix or something.
That power is about rare as a Unicron Trilogy toy having a springloaded missile.

I'd rather have a figure thats smaller, more durable, and has more parts than a large ratchet filled paintless inaccurate figure (looking at you 2009 prime)

Were people upset that the figure didn't come with a stand prior to the reveal of the stand?

Like, if the figure reaches that many pledges, you get the stand automatically. No extra charge. If not, you can get a Bandai stand set for, like, $20. This is baffling for why people are upset.

If the stand wasn't a backer goal, no one would miss it. Suddenly it's a necessity. Its gonna be the same for all the backer goals. The backer goals are meant to go with the figure so of course it feels like it should be with the figure. I say this even though I'm sour about the V-lock cannon being a goal but at least in aware of the situation

I am truly sorry you feel the way you do. I get that other fandoms seem to be getting more, but at the same time Transformers are vastly different from those other fandoms. You don't see Optimus Prime in Captain America gear and turned into a action master. Nor do you see Double Dealer selling arms to Cobra or Star Scream's fear turning him to the dark side. They come to the Transformers multiverse not the other way around.

Why? No idea, it's a toy line..

We have done repaints of characters that didn't fit in the mold they were shoehorned into, ie most of TFCC stuff (few pieces were good), or more resently combiner wars.

I would be more offended at getting some rando figure repainted that doesn't fit and be told it's good enough. We got that with combiner wars and with fun pub.

I think a lot of people, myself included, wanted a stand for Victory Saber as a tier. However, they didn’t want just a stand alone and were hoping for other items to be included along with the stand in the unlocked tier. Like the MP Star Saber shield/stand combo. A single stand by itself as an entire tier unlock is lacking…..

I would be way happy if tier 2 was like the stand along perhaps a small sword for Star Saber or a miniature Jan. So far there are only 3 tiers and the third tier is at 20k backers……. Getting a solo stand by itself for tier 2 means way less options and freebies for tier 3.

plus, while it looks like Victory Saber will easily get funded, no guarantee that it will even reach tier 3 or have other stretch goals - especially when Takara hasn’t even opened orders yet in Japan after 3 weeks.

Id like them to look like replicas of the cartoon. Not silly toys with stands. Just never liked stands. They look silly.

Do the math. If they hit the stretch goal with 6000 more preorders, thats another million dollars. It dont cost no damn million dollars to make a mold. The titans molds didnt even cost half a mill.

I love the stand, but if I don't get it I don't get it. I will complain if I don't get Victory Leo's cannon, however, has its an integral accessory to the toys imo.

Nah. I think I'll keep complaining. Just pretend that I'm being positive and ill pretend that I'm paying $180.
