If I can only buy one (and at $85...yeah, I can only buy one), I'm going to wait for their seemingly inevitable NA Powered Convoy. Then I can sell my MS Powered Convoy and keep my MS Ultra Magnus.

That’s not a bad idea to get NA Delta Magnus and keep MS Magnus on the shelf. I might do that too.

I am not ashamed to admit that earlier this week I ordered MS B04 Ultra Magnus: $38.
Extra armor I’ll never take off? Apparently priceless.

Looking forward to seeing in-hand comparisons between the two core bots. (Thanks for this edit @TIKnTIN) I notice that the crotch is much smaller on Magnus than Prime's diaper and the front is one solid piece. Looks like he might lose some articulation and might look a little less natural when placed into certain poses but I think I'd prefer the proportions better.

What articulation do you think he's losing? The front skirt flips up to allow forward leg movement.
Magnus also has nice lower legs.

He might not lose articulation but having to move the entire front skirt up to accommodate the movement of only one leg always looks a little off.

I do like the smoother appearance of Magnus' legs as well!

Wow, everything below the waist on these figures is completely different. I didn’t notice until you put them side by side like that.

I’m now really curious why they did it. By which I mean, what was it about Prime’s legs that made them have to completely redo them to accommodate the Magnus armour?

And vice-versa… if the white Prime legs work with the Magnus armour, why then just not use those legs on both figures?

Wanted to get rid of the hinges and flaps I guess. Just to make it look more organic and cartoon like.

For more articulation imo, Prime has the knees and ball joint heels, and moveable toes, better crotch movement. Newage also seems to want to use all of the options they can for different figures, so collectors have more fun transforming them. Like their Scavenger and Bonecrusher have different feet transformations, while offers from other brands often have the same.

I also prefer the proportion of white Prime a little more, but also like some articulations Prime has. If they repaint the white magnus, changing its back and chest to normal Prime, sell without the trailer, I think it can still be sold well.

Prime has double knee joints. Magnus does not.

Are we sure? If these pins are for articulation, then Magnus might have a double knee joint after all.

Are you really going to pose the white prime?

Do we think there’s any chance New Age will do a regular Magnus without the white Prime gimmick? I don’t really feel any attachment to the concept and both NA and MS armour Magnus’ suffer a fair few compromises to achieve the end result.
I’d just pick up the MS one, but if there’s a chance NA will do a non-armour one, I like to compare options and choose the best one.

    I don’t see a chance. Go with MS V1.

It won't be anytime soon. NA and MS are trying as much as possible to extend their collection with more new toys, re-designing some existed figures like MS Magnus and NA Bumblebee probably happens only once in a few years.

I dont see it happening, the MS one wasnt particularly well received which is why they did a traditional "armoured" version.

It's not just this figure. Every largish Newage figure with open hands has those unnaturally open hands included. They'd be great for waving or high fives if the wrists would tilt back. As is, I never use them.

I do agree on the but I never really swap hands on any of my legends figures.
