What I'd want as stretch goals:
RED figure version of the two bots
User Marvel Legends/Star Wards Black/GI Joe parts to make Jan Minakaze
Lights/Sounds packs in some way
Some kind of wacky Victory themed remolds, like I dunno... SS86 Blur to Blue Bacchus dragster or Trailbreaker to Tackle or something. Or hell, repaintmolds of the Siege Weaponizers to various Multiforce members. Something goofy, exciting, exclusive and not super vital.

Try getting a ps5 for almost a year when most online sites sell out within seconds due to scalpers and their bots. Especially with stock so low due to the ongoing chip shortage. You will see why people have a disdain for them.

 

Maybe a deluxe figure of another Victory character? Aside from this, I got nothing.

That's a completely unrealistic pipe-dream.

Again, it's easy for the Marvel HasLabs to get whole extra figures out of the deal because in reality, all they need to do is tool 2-3 extra parts or so. Not R&D a whole new toy. Might even be possible to throw the new parts onto one of the molds with the Sentinel parts themselves, in which case, virtually zero extra tooling costs are incurred.

Each newly-tooled TF character is another ~$500K investment, by comparison. Victory Saber's minimum target budget is only $2M, so...

 

A free flight stand is “insulting?” Get over yourself.

 

They can do some remolds or repaints of existing characters. Like I said above, they could repaint Weaponisers into Mutliforce members
They could repurpose some ML/SWB/GIJoe figures into human characters like Jan. Into the SpiderVerse Miles Morales already has a "young teen wearing hoody" upper body for example.
If they expand out of Victory in Zone or Masterforce characters the options literally explode.

 

I think we need to re-assess the potential add-ins here. HasTak is simply aiming to create the best Generations-styled Victory Saber they possibly can, while everybody has instead been going hog-wild, and brainstorming/pipe-dreaming about how this is going to be a Generations Victory "starter pack" instead.

 

Technically yes, that would be scalping. While Sony is currently producing the PS5, stock of the PS5 is still finite. Victory Saber does not currently have an uppder limit on his stock, ordering more only increases the supply. That's the difference. Everyone that wants one can order a Victory Saber and get it.

 

If you are seriously in this for the free stuff I would ask you to rethink your priorities.

I got Unicron, I spent X and expected to get X. I backed this project and expect to get the characters promised when it goes through. I am not looking for what extra bells they are adding, it is nice they are doing it to be sure but the deal was we need 11k or better to make getting these figures made and out the door,. They don't have to add anything else, so please get over your entitlement mentality. The company owes us nothing above what they promised they would deliver if it's backed.

 

How dare they choose to release a stand as a stretch goal? It should've been a completely new figure of God Ginrai to represent his death in Victory!

 

No, people are thinking of ways to attract fence sitters enough to the project to actually hit these goals. I guarantee that no fence sitter suddenly saw a flight stand and whipped out their credit card. But something cool or "exclusive"? They'll slap it down.

If you want to stay within the Victory Saber sphere... there's merch stuff they could indulge in. I don't like them, but a FigPin. Or enamel pins in general. Those acrylic stand desk display things that are quite popular in Japan. Reissue the old Heroes of Cybertron/SCF figurines, maybe with a commemorative base.

A stand shows a massive lack of creativity and honestly is something that should have been standard on a premium product like this.

 

Yea, best I could see is if they were able to toss in a Takara deluxe repaint from G1, but unfortunately things like Minerva or Go Shooter aren’t rumored until at least next year and fans would flip out on it being an exclusive. Ranger would make more sense as IMO it is less sought after by the masses, but again we haven’t seen a US update. Takara headmasters like Kirk would be great in my book as a goal addition. Really as long as we get the cannon I am happy.

 

But it's not a premium product. It's a bare-bones Generations-style release at its very core, that could be "premium" if we start hitting stretch goals.

I'm sure a big reason for the huge amount of early backers was the relatively low $180 buy-in. If they guaranteed all the premium add-ins at the beginning, then it'd be a $220 minimum cost instead or something, and perhaps a much slower backing rate as a result.

What we're seeing is a direct lesson in "budget compromises", and not "how much free stuff can we throw at TF fans to catch their interest".

 

I honestly wish everyone would stop comparing this to the masterpiece, and stop saying how the extra's, apart from the v-lock cannon, aren't anything considering this doesn't have much extra to add really. I just don't care for the logic many are giving considering I can't recall the last main release to have a stand included and how many masterpieces do this when this isn't a masterpiece but yeah. Honestly much of the complaining is annoying as hell and makes me want to slap so many through the computer

This is as much a premium product as Bandai's Premium bandai products are. It basically means you buy from them directly nothing more. Stop acting like this is needs to be worth its weight in gold

 

I'm cool with getting a stand. If we reach the goal of 17k orders then awesome, if we don't then it's not as huge of a lost as the V-Canon.

 

Hmm… I feel like stretch goals shouldn’t be something that completes a figure, you know?
V-Lock cannon is whatever, not too annoyed as it is pretty big (enough to make it more expensive at an 11 000 backer mark) and will probably be hit and if not there will third parties to make one.
The stand is nice, a little extra item that isn’t a huge deal if not hit and has the V for Victory to make it Victory Saber themed.
If they wanted to make whole new figures for it they had to be sure that the goals would be hit and jack up the price. Which would mean from the jump this would have been a $300+ American product, which if it didn’t hit its goal would be disappointing.
So say they did have Braver, Blacker, Laster as stretch goals. Either the stretch goals would need to be crazy high (like the first one in the 20 000+) or the initial price would be much higher. Can you imagine the outrage if the base set was say $350 American? People would not be happy, and it would probably not be at 7 500+ backers right now. This is not marvel legends, can’t just add a lot of figures.

Edit: for some reason when I was doing mental math I was assuming the Road Caesar bots would all be leader class, but they’d probably be smaller. So the price would probably be a bit lower, but the point still stands.
