What Transformers are you watching? My Decepticons are snidely whiplash evil dorks so desperate to win that they'd use a living electrical spark in their plans. Meanwhile my Autobots are getting human girlfriends and flexing on humanity on the basketball court. Alpha bots I fucking swear. SG is pretentious as fuck and misses the whole thing with what made the original Mirror universe episode from Star Trek compelling to begin with.
Only really the case for Jetfire and the Seekers for the most part, many of the other autobots have more interesting color schemes. Jetfire was repurposed from an evil jetfire redeco and the seekers use black as a unifying color, so it makes sense for them specifically.
A SG Wheeljack? Damn, and I just got a regular one to repaint as Slicer. Should've waited since SG Wheeljack is just Slicer with an SG Autobot symbol. Ah well, was also considering the option to turn it into Backstreet -- but of course there's also a rumour that we might be getting Triggerbots...
SG Trailbreaker was blue, Blaster is light gray and teal, Ironhide was black and red, hoist was red, and iirc several characters didn't get new color schemes.
Ahh I see. I thought you were criticizing the shattered glass Autobots of being the bad guys and the decepticons as being the good guys as bad. Misunderstanding, sorry.
SG Sideswipe is teal and gunmetal gray. SG CJ is his regular G1 color. SG Jazz is the same color as G1 Jazz SG TC and Skywarp are skittles colored Soundwave is blue and white Isn't SG Wheeljack blue?
That color does look good on CJ, but I was referencing the story where G1 Autobot CJ ends up in the SG dimension, not the evil CJ.
Then yeah he was mostly Red and Silver. And the Constructicons where all Ratchet/First Aid colours (although we never saw Devastator).
Yeah I have the Dark Skyfire and when I saw this I just thought it was that version of this and didn't really care about the SG connection.
We wouldn't want a straight rehash of the Star Trek episode would we? The whole Shattered Glass concept was born from the idea of repainting an Optimus Prime toy as Optimus Prime but evil. It was just another story for Botcon to sell repaints. Besides, nobody complains about Autobots being repainted into Decepticons and vice versa. There was no issue from anyone with Springer being repainted into Battletrap (for example), but if it was claimed the same Battletrap toy was actually Shattered Glass Springer then some people here would have been outraged.
I know exactly why I love G1. It was a dumbass show meant to teach kids "morals" while indoctrinating kids to bug parents to buy them toys. As an adult who appreciates that the G1 cartoon is a zany show, I feel slighted that we haven't gotten bastards like Decepitran, the Big Purple Griffon, Robo-Smasher or a robot that turns into the goddamn Negavator. At least we've gotten a few Kremzeeks. It's all good.
I think I said the same thing early on in this thread, but I SERIOUSLY hate everything about Shattered Glass, but that Jetfire deco is just dope as all get out. If it wasn't for the fact he has molded emblems that are now the wrong color, I'd probably pick him up. Even the doofy armor -that was instantly binned with Siege Jetfire - looks good with that neon green highlight.
